Default ATI Inlet Hat Bigger Filter ???

Guys i need your help. Here are some pics of the bigger filter i am wanting to run compared to the one that came with the kit.

What did you guys use to connect these to the inlet hat? The filter opening is 4".
Jer i know you did one like this.....

Thanks Mark i ordered the little filter to go with this one also.

Getting closer.....Piping on Monday and order my BOV on the first and she can start going togeather.
One more question.
Should i put everything back on and run the 3.7" blower pulley with the FMIC and see if i get a increase or decrease, or just step up the the ATI 3.4" pulley or the RR 3.3" pulley??
Thanks
Kyle

I have the same filter that i'm gonna use on my F1 . I don't know how your filter is routed but i am gonna use a cobra head bonnet (or something like that ) . Check here in my pic on the top rigth : http://community.webshots.com/photo/...50578966rOuooc

Sorry for the delay Kyle, my days of spending all day on tech are over. I have a job now

The filter I run is a 5x12 with 3.5 inch opening same as the K&N we replaced. This made it an easy swap, you made things hard on yourself by going to a 4inch opening. Maybe you can find a 4-3.5 reducer at an exhaust shop or JEGs or summit.
You can also check home depot racersupply and see if they have any 4 to 3.5 inch hard plastic reducers in the plumbing section. This piece doesn't have to be high temp as ambient air is only going through it.
Here are some pics of my filter next to the ATI one.

Here are two of it mounted to the ATI inlet hat, I have a small section of metal 3.5 inch tube connecting the two with silicone....straight shot in.

Hope this helps,
J

PS bad thing about those cobra heads are they collapse in under big boost loads, heard it happen a couple times and have seen pics where the impeller made a nice impression on the back of it, now if the one above is hard plastic this is a moot point.

Oh Yeah, go with the smaller pulley right off the bat, either one will do, 3.3RR or a 3.4 no need doing things twice....even though pulling the s/c off is easy, its still a hassle.

Thanks Jer. Im going to check at Home Depot for a 4-3.5" reducer. A buddy of mine said the have them.... the reason i went tithe 4" is the filter was..... about $13 bucks.... a case of beer for my buddy with a Stang and he had it just laying around.......... couldnt beat that. Thanks man. You hit the track again lately?

Nope. I am putting my cats back on right now I needed to quiet the car down it was just too loud even with the magnaflow. That is one raspy exhaust even with that big muffler on there. Just need a clamp and the 60lb injectors and it will be back on the road again.

Me and BOS will probably ahve to step up again....... but i dont think im going to do it...... no more..... i wont put any more into this kit after the FMIC and a 3.3" pulley. If it doest make what i want the whole kit is for sale........ Ill be going with one of PTK new LS1 kits with a T-76GTS or a T-88. All i want is 650RWHP..... it isnt that much to ask..... Im just venting.... plus the blower isnt onthe car to see any boost now to make me smile..... even though it is only 6-7 psi.......... i should be able to...... i dont know man........ this thing flys for 6-7 psi..... havent retuned it since the OTHER time.... i kinda want to keep the 3.7" on there and see just what i picked up from the FMIC swap. bumbed.........

Yeah I know what you mean, I'm thinkin PSSH PSSSSSSH PSSSSRAAAYY. Noyzee is having a blast, and I'm on the parts march again to satisfy my cars craving
Then its time to struggle with tuning again Thats the biggest pain
At least I'm at my goal of 15psi and making some great progress at the track with my "hybrid" tune that I put together.

I am having fun, but just do you know it isnt as easy and "cheep as most think. To do it right it cost big bucks, but what makes it easy is having EastSide so close to me and working with me on my car, they know their N2O like the palm of there hand, so its much easier to work with. however without them, id be lost. there is alot to it more then most think. that is if you want to go fast and consistant. If you did an N2O setup, id call ESP and tell them how fast you want to go and let them do it up!
it is fun tho!!!! You need to call and speek with ken, about gary's car. 9 psi and a shot on an east side motor 3800 lbs and it went 10.4 on sat when it was 90* out!!!!!!

Yeah i prob. wont give up on this kit.... the front mount will start to go on and ill just spray a 50 shot to get me to my goal. My goal in the beginning was only to run 10's..... i have the power and MPH on 6 psi to run 10's....... I just need a drivetrain now that will hold the power.

I would say the more n2o the better. with a built motor, hit it big, it will take it! id say 100 or more. or go with what ever it takes to see 600 rwhp and call it a day. mid to low 10's all day with that!
