Default Procharged vette over heating?

I dont know where eles to put this, but we are having a promblem with a customers car over heating, we did all the basics, new theremostat, tried adding plenty of water wetter, the car when you drive it gets up above 250-260 range.

Weve done a compression test and most cylinders were 180-190 but to were 160, we did a leakdown on those cylinders and they appeare to be fine, head gaskets are on corectly, radiator is clean, any ideas as to what the problem might be would be appriciated

Any bubbles in the coolant? Did you vac the cooling system to insure no air pockets?

If you are using the ATI fan it might be wired backwards, blowing air into the radiator instead of pulling it through. Also check to see that the fan is turning on.

check the fan, also are you using a front mount? It may be blocking the air to the radiator.

Its been hot here lately, that surley isnt helping you guys out any.
what kind of power is it putting out?

Start it up with the coolant line on the driver side head off. Make sure to be on a steap incline with the front up. This should alow the bubble to come out.

Fans are wired corectly, there are no bubbles in the coolant, it will idle forever and not oveheat, it does it going down the street.

it is a 6spd car, with the dual side intercoolers, it still has the factory air dam, we even moved it down some

The wires may look like they are wired correctly like mine was. I beleive, and correct me if I'm wrong, but the fans should be pulling air away from the motor. I had to switch mine. ATI has the colors on the wires wrong. My overheating problem was solved. And that was from day one of the install.

Good luck.

Still would triple check fan wires, but a new Rad like a Be-Cool and a 160* Thermo would be nice mods also.

Do you know what the intake temps are? Also We here at Griffin have a drop in radiator that has about 20% more cooling area then the SLP upgrade and all dimensions are the same except core thicknes that runs about 1-9/16 thick. This radiator will except stock fans and ac condenser. But I honestly dont think it is a radiator issue unless you are always in the throttle going down the road. Can you cruise at highway speeds and not over heat? Is it possible you have a week spring on one of the valves that is floating at speed? The fans never run on my car at cruising speed i dont think thats the issue either especially if the vehicle will idle all day long without over heating.

Headgasket or the fans.

Mine sits at 175F at idle with stock fans, FMIC, and stock radiator. I am going to upgrade the radiator to a two core because I plan to push the car more this fall.

THis is quite common with c5 vettes with the twin intercoolers you have to take out the stock dual fans and put in the procharger fan, the newer ones flow better. I had the same issues got a becool radiator and now it rarely gets over 210 even with the AC on.

The AIT's are ok, it has the older version procharger fan, so far we are stuped on this car , i really dont see it being a fan issue either, it does it @ speed not @ idle sitting still
