Default Removing muffler on STS kit will do what?

I have an STS kit on my truck with a GT67 and I added a Magnaflow muffler to clean up the sound a bit. I have it flanged to be easy to remove but I was wondering what would happen to my boost or AFR if I did so?

I am heading to the track tonight and don't have any diagnostic software or wideband to monitor things. I am at about 11.2 AFR in 2nd gear and 10.9 AFR in 3rd gear according to our wideband testing last night on the street. If I remove the muffler will I

#1 Spool up faster or slower?

#2 Increase or decrease boost or will it not change?

#3 If boost doesn't change could it still effect my AFR much to be worried about it?

Why do you have a muffler in the first place? I have just the tail pipe and its quiet enough for me and i'm an old guy.

You have the small turbo

With the GT35 I thought it sounded great and wasn't too loud.

I had a GT67 with .96 housing, gutted cats, and a 226/220-.591/.554-116 cam so it was LOUD. Part throttle sounded very similar to my truck when it was N/A with a big cam and no exhaust beyong the Y-pipe and gutted cats. It was definately not cool for daily driving. Hehehe

it will spool faster do to less back pressure.
it also should lean it out some, how much i dont know, but with it at 11.2 id think it would be fine. put some higher octane in just for safety sake then.

well you said you added the muffler after the turbo install.. did you retune since then? if not then it is allready tuned for not having the muffler... right?

Ok, so as long as my AFR is real low like that then I should be ok. If I sense some KR I can always try to crack open the methanol a tad bit to mist the intake air.

I installed the muffler after the first turbo upgrade but then added a FMIC and changed the exhaust housing from the .96 to .81 and totally retuned last night. So my low AFR #s are with the truck sitting just how it is right now with the muffler on. That's why i was concerned about taking it off because it wasn't tuned for no muffler and I figured I'd increase HP which could lean it out some.

you should have the methanol turned up as high as you can go without bogging allready.

just logg some WOT on the way there.. if its a little lean then add a little.. no biggie.

Problem is I can't afford to break anytihng right now so i didn't want to add more boost till I can afford to break. My trans will go very quickly as is and I am saving for a 4L80E and don't wanna push my luck right now.

At this point I see almost no real KR that we can tell, my AFR is low and boost is at 12-13psi, IATs never get above 107deg after WOT from 25-100mph, and the truck hauls *** so I just wanted to play with it like it is and ejnoy it before I go ***** out.

I don't have an datalogging software rigth now is the main reason I was asking. Thank you guys for helping me out. I am totally new to turbos and learned as much as I can from you guys
