Awesome..wow
Is anyone thinking about a bolt on turbo kit that bolts to a customers motor with those truck manifolds and aftermarker k-member..I guess the flange, turbo, intercooler, wastegate and downpipe..that would generate alot of interest at about $2-3k.

Well with the 01-02 manifolds bolted backwards, couldnt U run piping where the battery is to keep the temps away from the motor???? I have been trying to find more information on the backwards manifolds??? isn't there a guy in Houston who did the backwards manifolds w/twin turbos on a LQ9 motor in his F-body????/

That's what I am doing now.... this tubular K-member is going to free up all kinda of room.
The good thing is all the accessories stay in the stock location, even the alt... and I get to keep my a/c and all piping will go over the K-member.

Also, if anyone has an extra pass. side truck manifold for sale.. send me a pm please

I might just re-do that part of the kit....I would like a little more clearance between the steering link and manifolfd than I do now. Thanks

Kurt,
Do you know how much boost they were running at M9? Just trying to gauge how hard they were pushing it. I would think that they still have a lot left in it. That car should be pretty serious.........I think that they are sand bagging a little

They are not sand bagging. The converter was tight on there last engine so they had it loosened up, the things too loose now(6200+-). I think it was staying around 15-16 psi. They are on a steep learning curve and doing well. There is alot to learn on those cars as you know!!

Hey Kurt, why do you use truck coils? With ronnie's car you had a distributer, correct? Why did you need to run a distro with ronnies car but are running truck coils here?

Also what kind of block are you using? You guys are really doing some impressive work.

Kurt - the results you are achieving set you apart from the pack, and the generosity with which you share what most would consider their own intellectual property - is refreshing and inspirational, although I'm sure very annoying to those that are trying to protect theirs - anyway - it is people like you that contribute to the greater learning of us all, and make advancements possible beyond the narrow confines of tunnel vision.

Thank you.

We had some misfire problems with the FAST and stock LS coils above 6000rpm and 700hp. The truck coils got us above 900hp and 7000 rpm with no problems(still FAST). Ronnie's engine we needed 1200 hp and 8000 rpm so I was nervous about the ignitions ability to fire with the FAST controller so I built the dist set up.
Now with the BS3 I feel comfortable that it will fire the truck coils(8 amps vs 5 amp car coils) so that was used. I did first put my pick up truck engine on the engine dyno with LS coils from a vette and 21 psi we made 1050 ft lbs with stock coils/BS3.

The block is a 6.0 truck with some modifications to add strength.

Gary Armstrong owns the company I deal with. They sell very nice dry sump pans. They also make a valvecover for me with spring oilers that fits over Jesel rockers.

Thanks Torque and Jammer. There are some things we can't tell you but we will share alot of info. Pushing the outer limits is always of great interest here. We will continue to find the outer limits of the gen 3 and 4 engine.

We've decided to focus on racing our 622 BBC Bickel car, and leave our LS1 for the street, but it's good to know that someone, you, are out there finding ways to make more power from the LS1. But the jury is still out on whether or not you can surpass the Gen 1 and 2 power levels.
