Default Can it be done?

Ok, I've been going back and forth thinking bout heads/cam or FI. I decided that if I go FI, I can make power cheaper, and have a more mild mannered ride. I'd go with a procharger. I would boost no more than 8 lbs. Seeings how my bottom end is stock, why would I? Id probably start at like 4.5lbs and move to 8 as fuel upgrades and other things can become available. Do you think I could piece together a procharger kit for under 3000? I dont need the race procharger, this is a streetcar that might see the track twice a year. My goal is 450-500 rwhp. I will have full boltons before the charger. I'm sort of building the car from the ground up with rear/suspension/clutch/tranny upgrades. But anyway back to the question. Can it be done? 3000 and I can have a procharger?

Maybe and u tress the maybe...... I sold all the piping for my kit when i switched to a FMIC... sold it for $400..... then you would still need the J-bracket that the head unit mounts to and all the pulleys, crank and blower..... I would look into the SDCE Pulley setup..... so its all in how cheap you find the most expensive part... the head unit...... I might be selling mine in the near future.... D1-SC.... I might step up to a F-1...... but drive train is first..... you might be able to get most of the ATI stuff for under $3K but then you would still need 42# Injectors..... $350 + Intank Pump... Racetronixs sells a good kit.... I think $285 and tuning.... using a wide band.... Mine was $675 for W/B @ MTI..... So $1300 extra for fuel stuff and tuning... Always keep it in the back of your mind that someday you WILL need a forged motor... the stock pistons can only take so much.....

Thats my .02
Kyle

Oh and how is a ATI kit cheaper then Heads and Cam?????? You Can make 430rwhp with $3000 for a H/C setup......

Yes I know bout the stock pistons I think im going to go with a P1sc. Its makes boost faster in the lower RPMs' and what not. Ive been readin up and Thats the one im going with. I wont push over 8psi, until i get a forged motor. And I live right near APE so they would tune it. So tune = good Would I have to run an intercooler with a P1sc? I'm not looking to set any records, just looking to give some competition to my buddies 500 AWHP eclipse

Yes ..... run a IC..... If you do like alot of us and dont mind cutting up the front bumper support go with a big Front Mount intercooler.... the one alot of use are using is on Ebay amd selling for $275 or $300 shipped........... search ebay again for 3" piping and logs of coupler tubing..... all that can be hade for under $215.... i know thats what i bought..... then a bypass or BOV of your choice.... $242 to my door for mine...... $700 for a SDCE 8 rib spring tensioned setup..(might as well do it righ the first time) and its the only thing we have found that doesnt slip....... I bought a steel J-bracket for $200 shipped.... so all you would need from ATI would be the standoffs, the threaded rod, a crank bolt. The find a dealer who would sell you the head unit way cheaper then ATI and and about $175 in High Temp silicone couplers and reducers and your kit would be BADASS and way cheaper then most people pay for the base kit wich really isnt that good...... Im not sure how much a P1-SC head unit is...... anyone?? $1800??? so
Head unit $1800
IC + $300
3" SS bends and piping and couplers + $210
BOV + $ 240
SDCE spring tensioned 8 rib setup + $700
Steel J-Bracket + $200
HTS Fitting and reducers + $175
Stuff from ATI Should be no more then $75
TOTAL $3700 Plus a max of $1300 for fuel stuff and tuning..... so $5 grand..... thats only $400 more then i paid for my base kit..... i wish i could of known this stuff a year and half ago.... i could of saved alot of $$$$$$

I dont want the d1SC i dont want to go crazy with the boost. 10 lbs max, all I need is th P1sc, and its more than enough. I want 3000 dollar setup that can make 450-500 rwhp. I only need about 150 hp from a supercharger, seeings how im going to ahve 350 rwhp after all the boltons.

ok...... good luck trying..... i havent seen 10 psi out of anyone with a P1-SC.... it seems they need alot smaler pulleys to make the same amount of boost asa D1-SC and then you run into the dreaded belt slip and no boost at all....... ...................... you also forget that the 150 HP you see at the ground is not what the blower its self is eating..... about 225 HP is what the blower head unit will have to make for you to see the 150 you want on top of your 350 HP base........ and that saying you WILL get 15 HP per LB of boost and that hardley ever happens................
Good luck
