What "other" mods to do?

What "other" mods to do? Looking at a turbo setup next summer...until then id like to do some other mods to get me going faster until then, but not something ill have to take off when i go FI (so that eliminates headers, etc)...
Ive already got a lid, catback, and a short throw.
I have in mind gears, ls6 intake, suspension, and maybe a cam (suggestions for one that would give a slight n/a increase as well?)
The goal for the car is 600 rwhp using a single T76 w/ fuel upgrades and a fmic on 93 octane on stock cubes.
So any ideas for the time being?

If you run 8.5:1 compression or maybe even lower that power will be a cakewalk. On LS1tech there's some kind of a stigma about running less than 9:1 or even 9.5:1 compression, people claim your motor feels "sloppy" and "unresponsive" off boost. I don't agree with it, but lots of people do.
