I agree totally. The powerband was pretty narrow, too. Looks like it runs for about 1100 rpm. Maybe a bigger turbo would widen it up some.

We have seen similar. Turbo upgrade, ignition tuning, methanol tuning will help. Also A4s start to have problems around that power.

The car is too lean after about 5500rpm, that's what screwed up the power, I'd bet he was getting knock retard, at redline he's almost around 13.0 A/F --

In an FI car that's bad

If I were you I wouldn't do that very much or you can say bye-bye to your engine.

The car never seen any knock retard. The car is daily driven and runs smooth and perfect.The methanol does a great job to fight detonation at higher boost levels and is a must if not using race gas.

yeah with methonal you can run a little leaner at wot and not get the same level of detonation. I think you need to look at bigger turbo (67) and maybe a set of 02 LS6 springs minimum to control things up top. (Its either running out of turbo or valve float)

What plugs and gap are you running?

We will upgrade the valve springs in the winter. We also plan on installing a obx front mount.We are using ngk tr6 plugs gapped @ .035.
