Thumbs up Initial dyno results for Magnacharged '69

Took the '69 to MTI tonight (we were there until 9pm!) and did some drivability tuning on the car. Put it on the wideband and did a series of lower rpm tests to check everything out.

Finally got things somewhat going and it put down:

506 rwhp @ 5500 rpm
501 ft-lbs @ 4500 rpm

The blower makes over 400 ft-lbs at just over 2000 rpm! damn

Anyways, I had some leaking header collector slip-on flanges and it was messing with the O2 readings (sucking in fresh air at the collector). So, we couldn't push it further. I'll get those slip-on crappers removed and weld the pipe up on Saturday and take it back for round 2 of the tuning.

I'm happy with 500/500, as it was my initial goal with this 93 octane tune. I'm thinking it could probably hit 530+ with some more tweaking, maybe more.

Boost was 8.5 psi indicated. Fuel pressure a steady 60 psi.

Details:

348ci LS6 forged shortblock. LQ4 MTI Stage 2R heads (9.5 CR)
230/230 .581 114 cam
Magnacharger kit with intercooler (based on new GTO kit)
1998 PCM

Still some things to do on the car. Needs a front alignment badly, and the lowering springs up front are TOO low and the tires rub inside the fenders when I hit a bump. Gonna ditch the shock/spring and do coil overs instead.

So, drivability sucks due to tires rubbing. DOH!

Congrats!
I'd be very happy with the results.

Water/Alky might be nice too, but I'd avoid Nitrous with the Mag Intake.

Don't even have to see the gragh to know it has alot of power under the curve. Bet it's a nice flat torque curve too.

Heath, with the filter. There are a few other things I'll try later to up the power, possibly including a larger filter.

You are right, it almost looks like two torque curves instead of a HP curve.

Didn't take a copy home. I'm going back Saturday for more dyno tuning though, and will get some updated ones.

Cablebandit, I'm installing a 6-point cage and ordering some Bogarts. Yes, I do plan on hurting some feelings out there in this show car, especially when I add the nitrous.

since you have a forged bottom end, why not go for more boost? You "should" be able to do 12 lbs on pump gas. That should give you almost 600 rear wheel, NICE!

A Radix can hit 12 psi? The highest I've heard is 10 psi from one. If I can increase the power safely, you can bet I'll pursue that

It has an audible lope, but not enough to make the entire car shake. Sounds GOOD.
