Default Any vendors making FMIC kits?

I remember LS1SPEED were working on Intercoolers for Procharged F-bodies. Im not sure if they made one yet, but i was wondering if any vendors thinking about the idea. I would be willing to pay $700-800 for a complete FMIC that can handle 800-1000HP for a Procharger F-body.

http://www.ls1speed.com/eliminator.cfm

We sell both a camaro and formula/transam FMIC. You must remove the bumper support. The intercooler has the mounting tabs welded on it. You must fabricate your own induction piping (considered custom and more than one way to do it). We will be expanding our Eliminator line soon with BOV's, Wastegates, Boost Controllers, and Silicone .... pretty much more of the parts needed to complete these types of projects.

I'd pay a grand for a FMIC and all the piping for my Camaro STS kit!! The intercooler looks good already, I'd just need to figure out some piping/fitting/clamp stuff. PM me and we'll talk!

Hey Jon,

Are u guys willing to fab the pipes and everything needed in one kit for a Camaro running D-1SC. I need the piping to be 3 inch in the intercooler and 3.5 inch out of the intercooler.

Unfortunatly we only do the Fab'ing inhouse with the car here. On the D1 and YSi kit we both have fabricated pipes but they are not a production peice yet.

Any plans for them to be production peices especially the D-1SC? I also saw in another thread that u guys have larger twin intercooler and u can keep your bumper support. What does those twin intercoolers flow compare to the stock ATI ones and how does it compare to the FMIC you guys sell? Sorry for the questions, but im trying to decide what to do.

Eventually they will be production peices, right now there is more than one way to do it.

I will post the info comparing the flow numbers between the FMIC and the TwinIC setups, hopfully I confirm the specs this afternoon.

I think it's possible to come up with full FMIC kit but like stuff like dual exhaust, some additional fabbing might be needed.

PSJ just said it best. Sure I can fab you up one like mine, meaning having the inlet piping and the outlet piping running half way to both the s/c and into the engine compartment. But you would have to figure your own way to get the piping to the s/c and the MAF/TB.
-BUT- I posted my pics up for people to do this themselves and save some money....I know its not a step by step photo instruction how to deal....but quite a few people have done this type of FMIC set up just by looking at those pictures.....NA$TY-TA, SJH, Blackbird... you should really give it a try, there is nothing more rewarding than doing a small project like this for yourself...I would rate it at 4(scale 1-10) for level of difficulty.

Default fmic

i have a front mount intercooler on my 1998 transam, i converted my procharger kit from my 1989 formula 350 to my 98, the intercooler mounts with no drilling and tucks nicely under the front of the car. you can use the fmic from a f-body tuned port injected procharger kit. i can post pics if anyone is interested. all the tubing tucks under the factory plastic pieces under the bottom. i am running the 3 core front mount intercooler.

How better is your intercooler than the stock twin ATI ones?

Whats the point of a FMIC if you have a huge front bumper blocking it? I know they'll be air getting to it but wouldnt it be easier to make an intercooler similair to what the procharger has? Just curious. If you had one like this

then i could understand

Default fmic

this is a picture of my fmic off of my 3rd gen formula and now its on my 1998 ramair, its a horizontal mount, i took the scoop off for the picture. the air scoop doesn't hang any lower than the factory air scoop. and mounted this was no air flow is blocked from the radiator.
