Default Loudest turbos?

So I've heard some imports with turbos that the whine is just so loud its sick, I like my cars to be quite loud (Drive around with cutouts open all the time, etc)

My question is, what is the loudest whining turbo out there? I know most of the kits advertise how quiet they are, which is a turn off for me.

most likely the bigger the turbo and the less amount of exhaust would do the trick...4 inch dump would be loud

The units with the ported shroud or anti-surge ring will make the most whistle.

I only have a 3in pipe that is about 4ft long coming out of the turbo. The car is pretty quiet. If I take it off and have no pipe, you hear the turbo all the time, although the exhaust note doesnt sound as good.

A belt-driven charger like an ATI or Vortech would get you noticed more.

But then you have to listen to that racket while sitting at a stop light or while idling when all you wanna hear is your tunes. LOL

Jose, How does a T76 GTS sound in comparison to say a T60, T66? While it doesn't look to have a anti-surge housing, I've heard from others that it spools fairly loud as compared to some smaller T series turbos.

Mine doesn't sound any different from a normal T76, but it is noticeably louder than a smaller turbo.

I see a lot of people post that it makes a racket, but mine doesn't... maybe I was lucky and received a quiet D1-SC head unit. Hell, when I put my new pulley combo and belt on, I had to roll my window down to make sure the belt didn't come off... I couldn't hear it with the windows up.

Edit: Oh, and I'm also venting dual surge valves to the atmosphere. My friends tell me its loud on the outside, but inside the car, it's quiet.

The bigger the inducer the more sound will inherently be produced, since your compressing larger volumes of air. Stand beside a T101-106 car on the dyno, you will get all you want to hear....lol. Sounds like a Pratt&Whitney is stuffed under the hood....

I want mine to whine like crazy under heavy workload and at idle, of course louder under load but you should be able to hear the whine from a good distance at idle

Only thing you're going to hear at idle is a blower. My car, even if I open up the downpipe, is dead silent at idle.
