if you have heard noting bad about powerdyne so far, you havent' done enough research.

They're good if 6# is all you ever want to do, but they leave a lot to be desired, the internal belts can be problematic if you ever overspin them.

That it from a Pro go with the best not the cheapest as it seems that the cheapest always cost more in the end! Even though the ProCharger have problems at high boost!

I have many projects and every one I start a project outline. With parts and cost! But always blow that away and build a beast! Supercharger needs headers, fuel, traction, rear end,ect.... Oh now you are to fast need a roll bar,loop,ect....

Not trying to sound negative but I would rather buy a expensive but good part than a cheap and crapy part! If anything I would look at a turbo for your car, maybe a little more cash but the boost can be slowly added as funds allow! As well as more power on a stock motor! That means more bang for the buck!

Oh when I say Pro I mean a Pro at wasting money!

A friend of mine hade a powerdyne setup, he nicknamed it the Powerbomb. It blew up every time he tried to run it. He was trying to get 8 psi boost and could not do it.

I have a powerdyne on my car and have not had any trouble with it. If you are wanting to add 100 or so horses this is a good way to go. I have not had time to dyno mine sincing adding it but they proclaim to give a 30-40% gain. I did some extra modifing by adding a walbro fuel pump and 42lb injectors. I am also running hooker long tube headers. For the money it is the best way to go unless you are looking for a tremendous increase in power. If you just want to have some fun I would recommend it, but do not try to overuse it. I tried to make a 8 or 9lb boost and kept breaking the belt, now I am doing 6lb and no problems. If you want a little extra change to bigger cam.

wewwww I was getting worried there, this post went for a few days with PD being the best setup, I was like WTF I could have sworn everyone said they sucked.....Good thing you guys jumped in here and helped him out.

Also as said above me, used D1SC kits go for 3K (seems to be the market) and thats what i'll look to pay when I am ready....You should look into buying the one in the FS section, it sure looks purty

I agree with you guys that if you can find a GOOD used setup for 3k or less that is the way to go, but if you buy new then I think the powerdyne is not a bad way to go. I have had no problems with it so far. If I had my first choice I would have went with the procharger, but I was not willing to spend 6k. I ended up getting my powerdyne for 2700 new with a 3 yr warranty. Of course, if one was smart they would probably just stroke the engine and go with a big cam.
