Default lq9 6.0L head questions

I am going the TTi kit route, but will be keeping my stock heads for some time after the initial turbo install....the heads will come later.

-My main question is can I directly bold on a set of the 6.0L LQ9 heads onto an ls1? That is use the lq9 stock springs, valves, etc.?
-Do I need to replace the valves and springs? And with what?
-I probably wont have it ported or anything, as I understand they flow the same as the ls6 head. correct?
-I am staying with the stock cam, unless I come across an ls6 cam for cheap around the same time as the heads.

Any input appreciated.

yes they bolt right up, just use a 4.0" gasket like the gm mls 6.0 gasket.

id replace the springs as i would on the 5.7 head with all the power you will be amking you'll probably need to.
you can keep the valves if your trying to save money, the stock ones work, i still have the stock ones on my 6.0 heads.

they flow about like the ls6 head

that was exactly what I was thinking and I am glad I was on the right track. One more quick question though. You said to replace the springs as i would on the 5.7 head right? Well how long will the stock valvetrain last? I know thats a hard question to answer. But I dont know how long it will be 'til I get the lq9's. It will all probably come down to getting the heads before the tune, but I dont know yet. If thats how it goes then I will not be driving it until its off the dyno.

thanks

Valve spring life is largely a function of RPM. So if you keep your revs to a reasonable level, under 6500, then I think the stock valve springs are OK.

you need to pick up a cheap set of 918 springs. Stock springs are just asking for it to make no power up top.

I am planning on using the 918's on the lq9 heads, but just dont want to spend the money with buying a set for my stock heads just to have them off after a while. Thanks for the help guys.
