Default If You Had It To Do Over Again

just wondering if any of you guy would do anything different if you had it to do all over again. i mean would you do a heads cam set up, big cubes, NOS, or a combination or the three. better yet all three. just wondering if you guys have any regrets with going with an FI setup.

Thats why I am so glad I am at the point in my modding that I am. So far the only thing that I regret is the slp maf, only because when I get my tti kit I know I will need to get rid of it and get a new stocker. But I should have listened before I purchased.

I would do it over again. I had forced induction on my Mustang and loved it. The only reason i never did it on my T/A is because I had sticker shock on the F-body systems. A Mustang blower kit is like $3k LOL

I've been doing this car thing for over 20 years, and I always have the absolute best results with superchargers. They look expensive, but I contend they are less costly in the long run. And besides, they are just damn cool ....

Single T88, big FMIC, 15psi, same motor.......

Lots more power that what it will make w/the F1, I will eventually go turbo........
Its an easy switch over, F1 gets sold, headers, cam..........buy turbo, manifolds, boost controller, wala..... I already got a FMIC

eventually

I have done n20, heads & cam, and blower. In that order. If I had to do it over. Blower first.

I think i would of built a bigger cubed motor.. like a 408ci with a 200 shot and went with M6 instead of a A4.... i enjoying driving the car more then anything... even racing.... I love the power that is there with a blower, but i have way to much $$$ into it now............ and im still not done.

Insted of superchargers I would rather go the turbo route even though it is fare more involved, as far as install. I would alway have a good intercooler and some n20 on my side also. I would start with the motor though this time around.

I am right in the middle of this call right now. With APE driving the cost of quality motors down, I am on the fence between installing the incon kit sitting in my garage or putting a 427 in. These motors seem to run so well NA and boost seems to be such a pain in the ***. I want to daily drive my car so I like the NA for the "less things to go wrong" philosophy.

I'll probably decide in the next month or two. I am interested in seeing other peoples opinions.

-Geoff

p.s. I sure am having a blast right now driving my car NA...

The only thing i would do different would be buying a used Trans am with high miles and redo everything myself. This way i could save a ton of money. I would go forced induction first then the juice.

If you want to put down 575rw, drive it to work, sit in traffic w/ the a/c on, smoke all that dare to challenge, and just change the oil once in a while. If you dont want to worry about hi octane for your 12:1 compression 427... Put the Incon in. I have 6000mi so far on my kit, without a prob. Just bald tires...
My 575rw 02 TT SS runs like stock, gets almost the same gas mi. as stock (if I don’t beat it) will do 10's and probably about 199mph on the top end. Now I’m a 427 guy from way back... 71rsz28 427 L-88 n/a w/ 11:1 comp. 100 octane (@ 3.50 a gal) As soon as I can get enough cash....427 / 700r4 out... ls6 twin turbo / 6 speed in. Hope this HELPS. Hint hint.
If you do go 427, sell me your incon kit, I need one for the 71.

Well, I guess since I don't actualy have my turbo car back yet I can't officially make this decision but if I knew then what I know now I would've:
1) Avoided MMS like the plague.
2) Not been so trusting (see #1).
3) Done more research and investigated all the shops around the country that do FI and then decide who to give my car to.
4) Put all the money into real estate and doubled it in the last year and then bought a Ferrari.

Oh well, live and learn and drive...fast!
