Default Your Fuel System Setup?

I haven't seen a fuel system thread in awhile.

Anyone want to talk about their setups for 600rwhp+ ?
What problems have you run into, what have you added/replaced.

Which Rails and Regulators are you using?
At what power level did you need to replace them?

I got a Bosch 420L race pump, with braided lines going to and fro.......60# injectors......100 octane, this will probably be put to the test of the new setup in a few days........I might run short on fuel....in that case, I would have to try a twin 420L...

I plan on making over 600rwhp

PSJ,

How are you going to do the dual 420L externals??? Im wondring and i know Brian will chime in also because both of us are running a singal Bousch 420L external pump........

Now i am running
Sumped stock tank (98 Metal)
Bousch 420L external pump
-8 to front; Stock feed as return
Into Na$ty Nate Fuel Rails.
Feed into pass side rail, with -8 crossover into drivers side rail.
-8 from back of drivers side rail into Aeromotive Rate Rise FP Reg. sitting on stock feed used as return
60# Motrons
Base FP set at 56psi.

Wanting to switch to

Use both -8an feeds from sump into to Bousch 420L side by side into a -10 Y-fitting.
New -10 as feed and use -8 as return. Use another -10 to dual -8 Y-fittings to feed the back of each Fuel rail.
Duel -8's back into FP Reg.
75# Injectors.
That should about do it.......
Kyle

Tuning should start in a day or two for me, so we'll see what happens, I'll let you know if I decide to go the twin route

Got a question for you Bosch guys...
I have the Bosch pump from my last setup where it was used as an inline with a walbro 340. I have a -an fitting on the outlet of the pump, but the inlet is just a metal nipple. How are you guys using this when attaching to your sumped tanks, or is there a different version of the pump with fittings on both ends?

We will be using both outlet ports in PSJ's race tank, into dual filters, from there into the dual 420 pumps, out of the pumps into an Aeromotive high flow "Y" with a #10 outlet. From there it will feed one rail, crossover into the other with #8, out of that rail into his regulator returning back to the tank.

Why don't you guys use the Racetrnoix System?

I just installed the Racetronix 99+ system into my car. I looked in this thread because I'm planning to complete my system with lines and rails. Racetrnoix claims the pump can handle up to 700RWHP with no problem. I'm dropping 477/565 on nitrous and have pleeeenty of fuel left. I'm about to add another 150HP or so, but it 'should' be able to feed that as well.

Tom,

I have that same pump on my sumped 98 metal tank now and im only using 1 of the #8 outlets with the other plugged. I am wanting to do the same thing you just wrote about Johns car with mine. I know Brian (BOS) will probably need the same thing when you guys start tuning his car in the next couple of days. Me and brian have the same setup except he has a F-1. would using my #8 line i use as my feed now be to much to use as my return? I do plan on running #10 line as my feed now. Do you think my 60# Motron injectors will be enough to support 650rwhp on a D1-SC car??
Thanks
Kyle

Kyle, we have made 682 RWHP in a 382" D1SC car, with an M6. I believe we used #8 the whole way on that car, with an Aeromotive Eliminator pump. That car had the 60's in it as well. The car was very tame, we used a Z06 cam, and it didnt have as much of a fuel demand as say a big convertered auto, with a big cam with overlap would. Same thing with the YSI 348" M6 we built for Ryan in AL. That car made over 720 RWHP without a restictive air filter, but it started maxing out the fuel system. When we "capped it" with an air filter, it dropped the HP about 40, but the fuel system kept up.

I guess we will find out if the 60's will hold up on Bos' car.

#10 return will work fine with a #8 return.

Tom,
You dont think the single Bousch 420L will support the HP?? Me and Brian were talking and we were both worried about the pump.....
So what you are saying is that a big convertored car like mine (3500 stall) and big cam 230/236 .598/.608 114+4 will cosnume more fuel.????? Im hoping i have enough pump and Injectors.... Im waiting to see what Bos's car does so i have an idea what this pump and injector combo can do befor ei add anothe rpump and step up to a bigger injector. Thanks Tom

Lets see how Bos' car keeps up, but I would bet that it will need more fuel pump.

Yes, an automatic car with a big converter, and a bigger cam will use more fuel.

I run two Walbro 340s in tank, stock lines, speed inc rails, CAS regulator, stock vapor line as the return. Stock injectors for now... getting 60s soon.

here's mine...

Home made aluminum 10 gall cell in factory tank location
-12 feed to single Weldon 2025
-10 feed to Y block up front
-8 to each rail (Aeromotive 5.0 Mustang rails)
-8 from each rail to Aeromotive Pro-series regulator (Big silver one)
-10 back to the tank

96# injectors

Ran the car at 40 psi base, but ran out of injector at 20 psi boost. Upped the fuel pressure to 60 base, rescaled the injector table, but now I'm out at 23 psi Spinning it to 8K RPM you've only got 15ms of inject time, and the 96's just can't do it.

My 160's are freshly flowed and waiting for me to pick up at Kinsler, they left me a message today

Here what we have on the shop car:

3 gallon aluminum fuel cell
-10 prolite line to fuel pump
Magnaflow Pro Star EFI 600 fuel pump
-10 prolite line to front of car to
Aeromotive y-block
-10 to fuel rails
Wilson fuel rails
160lb/hr injectors
-8 Magnaflow EFI fuel regulator
-8 back to cell

We also are using Aeromotive's pre and post filters.

I'm gonna try and push this fuel setup as far as it can go........twin 420's will probably have to happen, but we will find out......

If I get enough cash over winter I'll plan on going to a BS3
