Default Please help with cam for Procharger

224/228 .581 .588 113

224/228 .581 .588 114

Would one of these cams be a good choice for my setup (mods in sig)?

How will the cams effect boost levels? Before headers I was running 8-9 psi, no WOT runs after headers, waiting for tuning.

How would these cams sound at idle? Would I have the lope.

Would 918's be a good choice for springs?

Any estimates on HP/TQ.

Do I have enough injector?

i would go for the latter with the higher lsa. I would see if you can get one with a 115 lsa. that's the size cam i'm looking for.

you won't know if your injectors are maxed out till you get it on a dyno and have some software to datalog to see if they are at max duty cycle.

You should have plenty of injector for that set-up but of course if you have plans later to increase the power by adding more boost or something you may wanna go a little bit bigger.

What made you focus on those two cams? How much overlap do they have?

The two cams were recommended by a local performance shop.

I have no idea the overlap. Should I ask?

On a stock shortblock and a D1,I would recommend a new timing chain, dual springs, and up the boost/rev limiter to 6400rpms.The stock Cam will give more midrange than those cams listed while keeping the lowerend in 1 piece.

Slowhawk,

What cam would you recommend? Timing chain? Dual Springs?

How far should I push the Lucas 42.5lb injectors?

I just purchased a set of Siemens 57lb.

Looks like you haven't maxed out what you got yet.I wouldn't even do a cam yet.Just the timing chain and dual springs(TSP has a good deal). Then you can turn the rev limiter to 6500rpm and pick up another 50hp up top. Also, what boost are you pushing?I would think 10lbs at 6000rpm would be good so you can hit 12lbs at 6400(like me).You should be at 500-540rwhp with 10lbs and stock Cam.The 42's will be close to maxing,so the 57's will be good.
