Back in Business!

Well after the issues with four broken pistons I finall got enough money saved to build my bottome end. I was origianlly going to put it together myself but I didn't want to wait on the machine shop. So I made a few phone calls and MTI stepped up and got the rotating assembly put together for me. They would only do the machine work if they put it together so it worked out to be faster anyways because of having a baby and stuff so I am happy with the work they did. I started her up on Monday or Tuesday. Started right up and for those of you who insist on turing it over to build oil presure first I didn't even get to one thousand two before the gauge was reading 75lbs. I drove her to work trying to get a few miles on her before getting it retuned etc. Runs very good Ported the oil pump myself and it hold a steady 75-78 psi at idle and just pegs the gauge when under any acceleration. Still in its detuned state traction is a real issue. Installed bigger fuel pump but it still seems like it is dropping presure we'll see on the dyno.

Did you shim the spring to get that kind of flow?

Yeah a little used a 7/16 bolt and rounded it of to fit in the cap of the bypass spring. Opened up the sucktion and discharge sides pretty good and tried to make the transitions smooth etc.

No pics I should have but i was in to much of a hurry. Mahle forged pistons and rings Hawk forged H beam rods. Runs good have an appointment to get it tunned on Monday so we will see. Drove it yesterday and today trying to put a few miles on it before the tune.
