Drilling tiny hole in FMIC?

Drilling tiny hole in FMIC? After suckin up water for the 2nd time I was wondering if drilling a very small hole in the bottom tank of my FMIC as a drain would hurt anything?
I was told I could do it on my charge pipe at a low point to allow any oil or water that got into the system to blow out/drain and that it really wouldn't effect much PSI wise as long as the hole was very small.

I have the big 9" K&N and it gets totally soaked. Nail it and go into big boost and all the water will go through the filter into the system.
I don't have the "sock" on there either...They are messing with those Drycharger deals right now and they feel it works much better than the "sock" from K&N so there is hope for that. Otherwise I'm buying the snorkal deal that relocats the filter up higher under my bed. That would solve the issue also but I hate to add piping as I feel it migh hinder me when I put the 6.0L in and try for 650rwhp

How much boost are you running in the rain? I know you run what 13-14psi on high boost.. are you running high boost right now with the weather we are having? Or are you sucking water just cruising around?
Ive heard of some people thinkin about making a shield, we could make it bolt on for bad weather, and I thought it sounded like a good idea. Itll cost less then a snorkle and you wont have to hack the truck bed. I could probably make one here at work, welder access here. Just need some dimesions.
I was currious about wet weather with the STS and after searching on the internet about the STS kits
some people said they had no probs with severe weather in their F-bodies. :shrug:
Oh yeah.. IMO I wouldnt drill any hole in your FMIC cause the source of the problem is obviously the intake at the filter. Drilling the hole would be more like bandaiding the problem... even if you could drain it you dont want it in there in the first place, or at all.

I ordered the snorkle kit because it was pretty cheap and it is a quick fix. I don't have time to build something right now with work and all this bad weather we are having.
I only see 12-13psi but it's enough to suck some serious water. I am not sure if I am picking it up durring normal driving or not. There was quite a bit of water in the FMIC and I am still blowing it out. I unhooked the outlet to the FMIC and am gonna drive it around a bit tonight to continue clearing it out. Talk about a pain in the ***..
Seems most people dont have this problem so I don't know whats up with me. Go figure though..

To get the water out of the FMIC.....
Maybe I can help you out here, take both IC hoses of(intake and outlet) Get your favorite shop vac, make sure the shop vac is empty and clean inside, stick the shop vac hose in one side of the IC and turn it on(blowing mode tho) and blow the water out of the other side of the IC, let it run for a while until you can no longer see water in the non vac hose side...should work like a charm.
