I got the 1st-4th gearset (stock overdrive gears), 4340 30-spline mainshaft, triple cone conversion, 2.71 1st gear.

I agree, if your trans is lasting you a few years than you don't need this trans.
Mine were only lasting a few months at best.
Well, since the car is out of RPM, I could first try taller tires with the current setup.
If it still ran 149, than I would say the cam/heads are holding it back.
Turbos should be capable of 155.
Intercooling could be improved.
