Default Good forced induction book

I am looking into supercharging/turbocharging my LS1 based engine. I am looking for some books that will give a good idea on where to start, how to pick a cam, blower, etc and a basic guide on installing. I am also looking for a guide on tuning. I have been to the local bookstores and have been only able to find literature on the Roots type blower with carbs. It was published in 1987. I need something newer and prefer an actual book. Websites would be helpful as well. What do you suggest? Thank you.

Maximum Boost by Corkey Bell is supposed to be a good book on turbos. I just purchased it the other day but haven't had a chance to get started on it. You can get it at Amazon

Max boost- Corky Bell is a good start. It'll teach u the basics of turbocharging and is enuff to even make u do your own turbo kit. However, I suggest that after u read it, the best thing is to go out there and ask the guys w/ the experience. See what works and what doesn't. Then eventually u'll start looking for more details and u'll start researching stuff like CART turbos and early to mid eighties F1 turbos and reading engineering books instead. Then u'll start realizing that street cars/mild setups are horribly engineered. Then u'll start realizing that race cars are much better engineered than they used to seem. Then u'll start realizing that u need to build a race car and drive it on the street. Then u'll realize that everbody else on the street is an idiot. Then u'll realize that u're the second best driver in the world (2nd to me of course). Then we'll start taking over the world and getting rid of street-prepared cars.

So, long story short, go buy Maximum boost

Well after reading about half the book in the last few days -- it is pretty good. Its a little simple and general in a lot of ways but it will get you going in the right track. There is some really good info in there, but a lot of general stuff.

Maximum boost was good, here's one that's a little bit less like a catalog:

Thank you for your help. I went to Barnes and Noble and ordered "Maximum Boost." I am also going to buy the Superchargers, turbos and nitrous book as well. Does maximum boost deal with tuning a turbo motor as well and if not what is a good book that will?

I'll sell you my Maximum Boost book from Bell. It's in brand new condition, I have no need for it as I've gone NA. I'm not asking for much for it. Shoot me an email at tosetek@yahoo.com

I just received my book from Barnes and Noble today or else I would buy your book. Thank you all for putting me in the right direction, hopefully I can read and digest all the info, and eventually get my turbo and become "2nd best driver in the world."

That book is really limited on all 3 setups. I don't recomend it unless you are a total newbi to any of the 3.
