Default FMIC installation

Is it necessary to cut into the front bumper support? It seems thats how most of you guys did it. If theres anyone who either removed the front bumper support or braced the FMIC in front of the support please post pics so I can get some ideas...

There doesn't seem to be enough room for both. so it looks like one or the other. but most guys just cut the center and leave the outer part of the bumper bar in front of the frame for at least some crash protection
