Question FI Question on fueling.

2000 WS6 A4

I am rebuilding my block as we speak, 8.5 to 1 compression forged pistons and rods and a custom FI cam, O ringed heads from TEA and a few other goodies

Ok I'm thinking of going ATI or STS for a setup up.. I understand the pro's and con's of each.

My Question is on how handle the fueling of each system I looking for a simple way to do this. My plan is to run between 10 and 15 psi and hopeing to hit at least 500 rwhp. What do I need to make this happen? (larger rails, larger fuel lines, ect) And any tips on setting this up? (proper wiring of pump, ect) Will just adding larger injectors and pump with Tuning meet the needs for this motor?

Thanks in advance.

I think I've seen your car around south county before.

I've been looking at that kit but from the guy i've talked with I get mixed reviews some say it's overprices and looks bad after it's installed. And other say they love it.. Any others?

I've also be looking at the Racetronix's in tank fuel pump setup.

The Racetrontixs in tank fuel pump setup is enough pump for what you are wanting to do..... Its were the Regulator is that is hurting us (F-Body's) The Reg needs to be up by the rails. You can order the high flow rails from Speed Inc or Nate @ Na$ty Performance and they both have kits to connect them back to the stock lines.... the stock lines are enough. Your going to need a good set of Injectors.. id suggest the Motron 60's and a good tune using a Wide band on the dyno.......

500rwhp? You don't need to o-ring the heads.

Speed Inc. stuff is pretty nice, I run something very similar to their setup.

I've had good luck with Nate over at Nasty. We run a single 340 intank pump, -8 feed line to Nasty rails, boost sensative regulator and the stock feed line as a return,Motron 60lbers.Has held 640rwhp no problem with fuel pressure base set to 40psi.(less load on pump)

Just like Slowhawk was saying, Ive had great service and help from Nate @ Nasty Performance. I run a Bousch 420L Fuel pump from him into Aeromtive Filter into -8an braided line now used as my feed line.... fed into the back of my passenger side fuel rail, bought from him. Then i use a -8an crossover in the front intot he drivers side rail. Out the back of the drivers side rail into mt Rate Rise Aeromotive Regulator that sits on my stock feed line that is now being used as my return. I am running Motron 60# Injectors that i bought from nate also. I wired into my stock wiring and used a new bigger relay with the help of Nate.
Heresa pic of the front with the rails and reg.

the O-ringed heads are really overkill but I'm not sure where I will cap the boost at and I would rather not go back inside the motor if I don't have too.

Kyle, Thanks for the pic.. do you have any other pics of that setup?

And are they're any good injectors out there that won't make my rewire the stock injector setup?

why spend all that extra money?

bigger pump, boost reference regulator and injectors. done.

new lines, rails, etc... waste of $$$ IMO

if you want to go beyond 600rwhp then get the extra stuff. 500rwhp - don't bother.

I've got another question question for you guys. I'm leaning toward a Procharger but what is the difference between the D-1SC and the P-1SC.. I know the peak number are greater with D1 because I pushes more air but If I'm planing on stoping at say 500 or 600 hp then could I get away with the P1 or would the IAT be to high?

And Also who has got good prices on them... (I know some won't post them openly so send me a pm if you would)

Most people that buy the P1 wish they had bought the D1..... IAT should be about the same..... from what i see when pulley sizes are the same the D1 is seeing more boost. The advantage of this is you dont have to spin the D1 as high in blower rpm's and run a smaller pulley and then run into the dreaded problem of belt slip.... wich we have solved now with the SDCE 8 rib spring tensioner kit.... wich is more..... or for starters go with the 8 rib ATI kit from the beginning. and another thing.... stay away from the FMU and just get the car tuned using a wideband on the dyno.....
