This video was ovbiously taken with a digital camera. The car is a little too loud and overpowering for the microphone so it is hard to define exactly what the car sounds like. I'll say it is pretty loud and sounds VERY pissed off. If you listen closely you can hear it almost crackle like a funny car...almost. The revs at the end are only little tiny blips of the throttle.

Perhaps more footage will be on the way...

BTW...take this for what you will, but don't get THIS one locked as well.
Jason,

Your killing me sucking that hot air into the engine.

Here you go Bryan.............sucking the hot air in yeild us 942rwhp / 710rwftlbs @ 7000 rpm. We still have not reached peak power!!! We still have a issue with the engine that we are trying to over come. That is why we have not revved it past 7000 yet. Remember also, this is on a Mustang dyno. The car has A LOT left in it and we will be trying to get her fixed in the next two days, if we can the car will be at Thunder. If not, than we will have to try for the following weekend at a track close to home.

Thanks,

BTW, More video's to come & also dyno sheets!!

Now that we have some numbers I have some questions. and these questions are directed in getting your opinion only.

First, Extremely impressive numbers.
My guess is with these being your begining numbers you are proably within 100hp of your final numbers unless more boost is added. Right?
1. With these numbers do you think much more power would be generated if cold air was going into the engine instead of hot. An intercooler would have to work twice as hard to cool off that intake charge yielding warmer than could be cold air.
2. In your opinion why do you thing that your HP is over your tq. Is it that you made 710 @ 7000 but had a higher RWTQ number at the 5200 RPM crossover point?
3. Now that you have numbers, do you think that the GMPP intake bought you anything.
4. How much boost do you think you are running?

If you dont want to discuss this openly, please PM me.
Thanks
Bryan

Bryan,
I will answer most of your questions the best that I can and will Pm you the ones I don't, when I have the answers.

1.) I am pretty sure we are within a 100hp of final, but with that being said we gained over 200hp in going from 6000 to 7000 rpm and she still has not peaked. If everything is linear here that would tell me that we can make a lot more going to 8500, where we intended to take this engine.
2.) Our inlet air temps never got above 135 degrees, so as of now I am not that worried with them. I know moving the rad would help and we will be doing that as soon as we get this race over with.
3.) I think that the GM intake is allowing us to run the RPM that we want, where we would have been limited with the LS6 style intake.
4.) Boost is very moderate, right now.

I will say this.........Prochargers are pretty awesome.

Thanks

Hahaha! Negative HP...cute.

What you see there on the graph is when he started the test at around 2400 and was coasting on the dyno. Then just before 4320, it spikes a little bit. That is riding first gear, giving it a little gas. Then the actuall power pull starts at around 5760.

rofl, that car is really something else, If there is a car that has no stone left unturned its that car. If there is such a thing as a "perfect" fbody my vote would be for the APE shop car, very sweet indeed.

I wish they would put up some pics of the switch panel, damn thing is like an airplane
