Contemplating Custom S/C Install...
I dont really want to buy a S/C kit because they are awfully expensive and seem overpriced. I would like to buy just the compressor and do the work from there because I think it would be a lot of fun. I have no shortage of tools, expirience, and time.
I am thinking just a simple kit, no intercooler, making 450-520rwhp. I would use rubber piping and metal mandrel bends where ever I could get them in. I would probably mount it where the Procharger D1-SC is, and use a Procharger compressor or whatever I can find, or maybe remove my A/C compresson and mount it there. What else would I need? Do I need to upgrade the fueling system. Do I need some sort of boost controller? How would I go about getting it connected to the crank pulley? Can I just route it in with the main belt?
I will have so many more question as you guys answer these. Thanks a lot!
Good luck,
Mark
Just how much power can I go to on the stock fueling system? I think I am underestimating also. I always loved to do things myself, thought I'd might give this a try but don't want to mess around with the fueling system.
If you want to do a cheap supercharger setup, find a used P1sc procharger, a aluminum ATI bracket, the 6 rib add on pulleys, a OBX intercooler, and fuel system.
you can find the first 3 used easily, as people upgrade to the D1sc, the steel bracket, and then the SDCE 8 rib spring loaded tensioner.

I don't see you going over 430rwhp without an intercooler or alky/meth injection. And you'll need 42# injectors and a walbro 340GSS(or equivalent) inline or intank fuel pump. I would not worry about upgrading the fuel lines and/or reg till you're ready to push the boost up higher than 6-7psi. Besides less cost, it's one other thing you have to deal with at the time of install. For me the fuel upgrades were ten times more work than the S/C install.
Always make sure you have a safe tune.
