Where to fit two turbos...

Default Where to fit two turbos...

Alright, i noticed Harlan has his infront of the motor, vettes have them in front, but some ls1 kits put em "behind" the motor, or along side it....whats the difference if any? Meaning heat disipation perhaps, ease of plumbing, etc...is there any room to speak of "behind" (along side/behind) the motor to fit a t66 sized turbo? Any input is appreciated! Thanks!

To do large turbo's along side/behind the motor you have to notch the frame and reinforce it. Ive seen 2 vetts done this way to fit twin 67's and keep the ac.
Sitting them up high helps w/ oil draining back to the pan. Set down low like the incon kit you need a pump to get the oil back to the pan.

Ditto that... plus, low mounted turbos supposedly run a bit cooler since the turbo isn't close to the hood holding heat near it. Personally one of the reasons I really like the whole low mounted turbo idea is that it keeps the weight of the turbos low and further back.
