I'd just like to add STS is probably the best shop I've ever dealt with. They are honest and don't make any excuses for their product. It performs well, bottom line.
trt, you missed a good one, the STS vehicles were tearing up the proving grounds and like it was said, didn't miss a beat!
The GTO was fun as hell, but the SS Camaro was more of a blast, imo, we took it out all night and had fun, watching ppl drool over it, it was a fun night.
I was wanting to have the Ford L line up against the sleeper 01 Denali Truck, no one really took a ride in that thing, but launches hard!
Also, wanted to let you guys know about another vehicle that didn't get any attention and would probably beat any of these cars (if the head gasket was 100% and boost was turned back up) This car ran 94mph in the 1/8, that's right, it's not a typo, and gave the SS camaro one hell of a run on the streets. It was a Type R Acura, I know, IMPORT, but take a ride in it and you'll have respect for it! The car was all top end and the proving grounds didn't give it a chance to shine, the only straight a way was way too short! It also had an STS kit on it.
What about that Skyline , that thing did some impressive burnouts!

allen

It was so much fun, next year you all have to make it out there. I saw everything that I wanted and more. I think it's amazing that our GTO held together, the car was hot lapped for about three hours with out any problems. The professional Yokohama drivers were awesome with our cars on the proving grounds. We had my SS out there with 13"wide BFG drag radials and our base 5psi kit and it made all the cars look slow on that AutoX track. Towards the end Ford came out with an '04 Cobra, '05 GT, and their V8 Focus. Our turbo cars looked and sounded awesome compared to the Ford Racing crew. There's nothing like a loud LS1, spooling Turbo and an open waste gate to impress the crowd.
We'll get more pics and video up on our website so stay tuned.
And for all the haters, you can't get better then being awarded a "Best Performance Product" award from GM. You may think you're a turbo engineer but I tend to think that GM has a few better engineers themselves.

I still think it's funny when iodiots say it's a kit for noobs.. I always thought noobs took the easy way out and always stuck with tried and true setups. I know for a fact mine wasn't the easy way out.
I agree.
It's also called 'Concrete Thinking' for those who refuse to think outside the box or adjust to paradigm shifts.
You can bet your sweet bippy that there are some engineers at Ford and GM who will give the SSTa serious look.
There are all kinds of ways they can redesign a vehicle to accomodate the placement of SST in its present location or some location other than the engine bay where space is severly limited.
Just the labor alone as an expense for warranty and/or repair is justification
enough for the auto manufacturers to consider the SST as an alternative power-adder for cars and trucks.

Forced induction is never for the weak hearted because what it involves, but at the same time the kit is out there to allow people to get their feet wet. Why not? I think for the price, its a great way to make a nice amount of power and be happy with something that turns heads and is fun to drive. Thats what aftermarket products are all about. The same reason why cars have fancy stereos in them....to turn heads.
I honestly like the kit, other wise I wouldnt be selling them or running the kit on my own personal car. I say congradulations to the STS team for pushing what they believe in. Keep up the good work, and it was great meeting all of you.
