I am guessing the kit will one day pass CARB for us Cali guys? Do you see a day when the price will come down? It will be hard to sell these units at that price since other forced induction companies can be had cheaper without cutting up the cowl. I'm all about positive displacement blowers, but many people will just go the cheaper route with another company that has a great reputation for FI. Will there be any other fitting issues like different motor mounts to drop the engine another inch to gain more clearance? How long will the typical install take, at least what is the projected amount of time you foresee?

Haha, he was saying that is isn't from CA, so he doesn't have to worry about it.
Anyway, I saw a document a while back from Magnusen showing where they got CARB certified for the CTS-V, Corvette, GTO as well as the 98-02 F-body. But if this shop is using the kit from a 'Vette, those are already CARB certified, so any smog guy would see the CARB number and be fine with it...I think.

d james, I can appreciate your comments, but given that most, if not all intercooled turbo and supercharger kits are typically $5500-6500 I don't think you are correct. There is a high cost of parts for these kits, that's why you really don't see kits below $5,000. FI is fun, but it's not super cheap unless you have a 1990 Mustang 5.0.

So you have to hack the hood and cowl too? Sorry, I am out. I love the idea of a roots style but will not be cutting my car apart to do it.
However, it's nice to see someone is taking up the project and offering.

I will take some pictures of the modified areas and get them posted over the weekend. The cowl cut is minimal and almost completely covered by the plastic cowl panel. The hood cut is a little bigger but can easily be capped off with some body work. In the worst case, you could get a used hood and paint it tomatch your car, so you can save your original hood. This might also be a good excuse to get a custon hood

I understand the hesitation on cutting the cowl and hood, and that its not for those few wanting to perserve the integrity of their cars.....which brings be to what integrity are you preserving by putting a power adder on? The hood mod is simple and in no way effects the aesthetics of the car, or the hoods integrity, its a simple cut and remove of some the bracing in the rear. But, to each his own.
Any pics of this setup in the finished stage would be nice.

If you are concerned with making the highest peak hp with a supercharger, go with a centrifugal. For daily drivers, the roots is better.

For a guy like me who drives his car 365 days a year, I am wanting seamless, transparent, dependable, every day drivability.
So for me this unit @ 500/500 is more than enough to put a permanent
