Boost and a stock Mass Air

Default Boost and a stock Mass Air

How much boost can a stock Ls-1 Mass Air hold. I am running 12psi of boost and on my tune, I'm good down low, but I am going lean around 5000 rpm no matter how much fuel I add in and my idle sucks. I thinking the problem is the mass air can't flow that much boost. Any suggestion? Thanks for any comments in advance.

You are probibly running out. Your to the point of being blind right now. PE vs. RPM is about the only way to tune from here on.

May be a stupid question, but is your fuel system up to the task? What are your specs? Could be maxing out the pump or injectors, or even fuel lines/rails.

I've Got flow matched 55 pound injectors and a racetronix fuel pump. Stock fuel rails ,but I thought they were good up to 700hp. The blower is a procharger D1sc intercooled with 12psi of boost. Its making 520rwhp at only 5000rmp with this new tune(dialbo tune).It could be the tune dialbo is sending because they have not got one right yet but the one constance is that its starts going lean around 4500rmp. I was thinking of trying to get a 85 mil Z06 mass air and see if that helps. But the tuner thinks the mass air is running out.

Well, the maf sensor is maxed out in terms of being able to register airflow, but it is by no means a restriction in the system.

Watch fuel pressure and inj pw during a run and you will know why it's going lean.

Right, no matter what mass air sensor weather it be stock or a 85 will do you no good. The MAF can no longer register said amounts of air.

Looks like a tuning/fueling problem.Your not running out of Mass air yet.

I think its a tuning problem with dialbo tune. They have not got one right yet.

I agree with most everything said, but also understand your pushing the limit on the stock rails (deadheaded). Fuel is probably being consumed faster than your getting it to and thru the rails. You made need to get after market rails with an FPR and return set-up.

horseshit, i used a stock LS1 mass air meter on another project, with a translator, and ran about 24 psi, and it worked perfectly.

You can go far with the stock maf. We are close to 700 rear wheel with it. I would check fuel pressure or your injectors first before the maf.
