Default i think ive finalized my turbo setup

looks like i will be doing a custom turbo kit built by Allan at FMS. it will allow me to keep the ac and everything that a normal daily driver call could do. it will be built on my 408 motor built by FMS as well, prob 8:5-9:1 CR with custom tubular manfolds and will be mated to a gt55 turbo(supports 1500 hp)

i will have 60 lb injectors, and with the fuel pressure regulator it will allow me to run the injectors like they were 80#ers. he said with race fuel i should have no problem running 20#'s of boost, if not more.

i plan on only running the most boost possible on pump gas to keep it safe as a daily driver.

Im soooo happy he was able to do it with my budget, and that it will work out accordingly. hopefully i should be able to run 700 rwhp as a daily driving car.

one thing why run such a big turbo if your going to be limited by injectors?
how far can those injectors be pushed 850rwhp if that? and the turbo can support 1500, thats a T6 frame right, spool up time will be killer on a street car.

IMO you should go with a smaller faster spooling turbo, like a GT42R

killer as in good, or killer as in it will take forever?

as far as the injectors go, it is all up to Allan, he knows what hes doin, and recommended i go with that gt55 turbo since it is supposably much more effiecient.

until i have the extra money to upgrade to a custom computer, i dont think it will allow any larger injectors.

You better start looking for bigger injectors if your serious about 20 psi, especially on a 408. 80's ain't gonna cut it.

Not to mention the pump at the pressure increase you're looking to make the 60's into 80's.

other than that, good luck

i dont have another 2500 for upgraded computer. will this setup work ok for now, or am i missing something?

in all honesty, i plan on keeping the car close to 700 rwhp all the time, and will "occasionally" want to turn up the boost if the occasion calls for it(there are a few 1200 hp supras around here that i might like to have some fun with)

other then that, i want to keep it as streetable as possible while running 91 oct(its all we have here)

they do have impedance converters like what speed inc sells, you could use some 72's, 86's or 96's and hope your stock compter will keep the tuning intact (what im hoping for too untill i can afford the stand alone)

You can run 96's on a stock PCM, you just can't run them close loop

RC engineering makes a 75lb'er for our cars that works pretty well with the stock pcm.
Also i second the gt42r being a better choice for your setup.

Hmmm, another turbo ls1 in the phoenix area, huh? My car should be fast, but your plans are already by me

There is one 9 second supra here that just caught fire this past weekend at the track, Ryan Woon's car.

man, that sucks for woon. i know he tuned the car for 1100 hp or something.

on another note, no there are no 1200 hp supras running pump gas. i just mentioned that i want my car to be able to run pump gas.

Fuel system:-Motron 60lb injectors
-Aermotive elininator pump
-Aeromotive fuel filter
-Aeromotive regulator
-Hi-flow fuel rails w\fittings
-fittings and braided hose
-new '98 tank..sumped

as far as the injectors go, Allan is checkin into the rc 75#ers and seeing how it will work with my setup. if the injectors are the only thing that is really keeping my setup from running higher boost, then hopefully they will make something that will flow enough and be compatible with the stock computer.

the whole setup that i am doing is all Allans choice. i have no idea what parts are good or bad, but he must be doing something right if he has all these happy customers, so whatever he thinks is right, im 100% behind him.

im sure there are problems with a lot of things, 90mm lsx tb(plates sticking), pacesetter y pipe(banging issues), etc... if there is something majorly wrong with that product, i would hope he would know about it.

do you guys know where i can find out information about the RC 75#ers and the gt55 turbo? i checked on google and couldnt find anything useful.
