Question Turbo Cam??? Recomended!

Maybe you guys can help me out.
I need to get a Turbo cam for my new STS T67 turbo system.

My Ls1 motor is going to be a 9.25 to 1 compression, with eagle rods -8.6cc dish Diamond blower pistons.

Comp cams recomended a small 218-214 563/559 115 + 3 degs Turbo camshaft.
The tech guy said that for my set up and that the car is going to be a total everyday street machine runing 10psi of boost that this cam will have a ton of bottom end TQ and has a good midrange pull, RPM range is 1200-6500 great for the street.
He feels no need to go bigger, and maybe I was thinking this cam will work good to get that rear mounted STS 67 Turbo spooled up quicker.
He said this cam is good up to 20 PIS of boost.

I was thinking about going a little bigger , maybe a 224-220 or something very close, But like i said this car is going to be used as a total street car.
I am looking to make 550HP at the wheels.

I have 2001 (241 castings) Absolute speed ported heads, Using stock valves with 2002-2004 ZO6 valve springs.

So lift is going to be around 550-560 and i am going to stay away from the XE-R Lobes since they are to aggresive for a everyday street car.

I am installing a racetronix LS1 intank fuel pump and MSD #50 injectors, also a front mount OBX intercooler.

Please let me know what size (type) of Turbo camshaft would work best for me.
thank you very much

The guy at comp usually gives a very conservative estimate for cam sizes. I think anyone who spends much time on this board can go a lot bigger than what comp usually recommends. It seems that most people here have a little bit different definition of "streetable".

Streetable depends on how many cops your city employs, right?

I think they (Comp Cam) are right. What gear are you going to run? Are you 6 speed or auto....stall size? You do not need a big cam to make power. Hell Mightymouse' original cam was putting up big numbers and that cam was tiny.

thats a decent cam. going with longer duration will only raise the powerband and decrease the low end torque. for a N/A car you would want a bigger cam. the turbo will make up the difference

keep that cam. I think that it will work well for you and have plenty of power under the curve. You are gonna struggle with your 1/8 mile times if you kill the bottom end. With a 6 speed, it's gonna be hard enuff getting to boost off the line. That cam gives up some top end but I think will make better power under the curve than something bigger and give you great driveability

so go with the 218-214 Turbo cam, sounds small but maybe it will spool up the STS T-67 turbo faster.

Whatever you decide to go with just make sure to do plenty of research/get lots opinions/make ur own judgements and make sure its excatly what you want. Good luck with your build and hope you reach ur 550rwhp goal or more. Should be one hell of a blast to drive!!!!!

Well i have a few people telling me that the 214-224 560/570 115+3deg Comp- bolwer cam will work also well with my combo, and that there is no need to go with a reverse split turbo camshaft.

Also My engine rebuilder said that my 214-224 Blower cam will work fine with the STS turbo system. But may not be optomum.

I was thinking that Maybe my 214-224 Cam will work good because the Turbo is mounted in the back of the car, and with the Extra exhaust duration it may help spool up the T-67 turbo faster,
What you guys think about this, could i be right.
Rember that the car is going to be a street maching , only looking for 550RWHP.

thanks for helping out

Here is what a 226/220 .560 lift Cam does on a setup like yours with 10lbs out of a T70 STS
