Default reverse pattern cams??

I've been kicking around the idea of putting a turbo on my truck and when I called comp they gave me a reverse pattern cam, from what I always knew, you put more duration and lift on the exhaust side ofthe camshaft. Does anyone have a more indepth explanation of why they said that cam? I should have asked the guy but I didn't. anyways if someone could clarify this for me that would be great!!

you would generally want a cam with lots of lift and duration both intake and exhaust, with stock like overlap. overlap=throw boost out the tailpipe

For turbo its reverse split and for superchargers its traditional split. All forced induction like High LSA, for example 114 to 117. It creates less overlap which makes you benefit from the turbo, supercharger, nitrous. Although they are starting to say it doesnt matter for reverse split for turbo I still would get it. I will getting a turbo soon and I will get the reverse split type cam.

The reason for the reverse split on the turbo cam is to keep up the exhaust velocity to spool the turbo better.

The type of cam, be it straight up, standard split or reverse split, doesn't matter.

All that matters is the valve events.

And generally speaking, overlap=power, yes, even with turbos.
