Will this PCV setup work on turbo car?
The car had the back drivers side valve cover grommet running to the air intake in front of the turbo. The rear passenger, TB nipple, and intake manifold nipple were plugged off, and the front nipple on pass side was open to atmosphere/breather.
With this setup the car smoked really hard at idle, smelled like oil smoke.. didn't have the blue tinge that I would expect with the amount burned though.
I put crossover connecting two rear grommets and a PCV valve running to the intake manifold (stock style setup) and the fresh air inlet normally running to the TB - ran that to the air filter pre-turbo/boost etc.
95% of the smoke is gone. The plugs are still pretty greyed up so they need to be changed still, but definitely seemed like it was burning oil previously. Gonna have to look at the plugs after some fresh ones go in and regap them they were little wide at .047"
Only thing Im concerned with is it pulling oil into the air inlet. Would putting a breather on this fresh air line work or what about putting a catch can in route to the airfilter
Im just worried with the original setup if it hurt anything, a LOT of oil had to go thru that turbo sucked out of the vacuum ports on the cover, to make the plugs look like that.
#1 thing with the breathers is running enough surface area to them if its remote mounted Id think
