Default Bigger ATI air filter guys in here

Hey need some help to figure out how to mount this bigger K&N filter with the twin intercooler in the way. What are your setups? Any pics? Lists of supplies needed like what was used to go from the 3.5 to 4 inch inlet. Thanks for any help.

I think you need to relocate or delete the cruise control. That should help you out.

Or go with a big FMIC and then you can fit a filter in there like mine......

You can see how much bigger this filter is..... compared to the stocker that came with the kit..... its for a mustang and alot of the parts i got from Home depot racers supply (Home Depot)

Your car will probably run cooler with a front mount. Mine does. There is a lot more airflow when you pull out the foam in the front end.

Here's my setup which was installed by Slowhawk. Note the huge Green Machine airfilter which tucked up very nicely where 1/2 of the the old duel intercooler setup used to live: https://ls1tech.com/forums/attachmen...chmentid=18522

I will post up pics of my new FMIC tonight when I pick up my car at Synergy Motorsports here in the bay. Rebuilt motor (thanks to the warranty on the car from honda. all work done at Synergy, not Honda), LT's and a custom FMIC. Can't wait to see the new power.

Im switching because it will be more fun to drive.... because that is what i want to do with this car...... drive it.... it has been down so long its sad.... and no matter what these guys on here think a 4l60e will not take the power..... i dont care who builds it..... ive had it with this POS 4l60e.... and i didnt really care about my ET that much.... it will run a 10 on street tires so im not worried......... I will be sure i have lots of pics and ill post up my progress you guys know that.... im on here all the time all day long....

When you guys switched to a FMIC did you have to cut any braces or metal? I know the bumper needs to be cut and the form removed.

No you don't have to cut anything else. All we did for my setup was turn the out put to aim towards the front right fender. Then used a u turn pipe to the intercooler, and another u turn pipe, then up to the throttle body. I will try an post some pics tomorrow.

What is that red piece? A blow off valve? waste gate? Did you have to take off the bumper to do this?

Yes the red piece is a BOV i took it off and was going to go with a Vortech MONDO bypass, but i decided to sell the blower kit and go turbo..... yes the whole front clip and bumper support have to come off the car to do this.

I know this may seem like a stupid Q but why do you need a BOV? How much was the FMIC? The more I read about it the more I want to do this. By the way thanks for the pics and help. I also noticed you have a dual fan set up. what kind of fans are they? any fitting issues?
