Default huh?

Unusual ta you are a retard. I know the qmp kit isnt the greatest design ever and has backpressure issues but it has made good power when installed and tuned correctly. I dont think I have been to the dyno and seen a local qmp kit car not make 550rwhp, usually on stock motors and around 11 psi. I know of many cars(5-6) that were fully tuned in a half of a day and made good power. I cant believe that you only made what you did on 14 psi, and a built motor, but then again u could probabaly mess up a wet dream too!

cool off guys Unusual, I don't understand your results. I made more than you with the TTI kit and smaller turbo. Not blaming YOU...just saying something specific in your kit/setup was not right. I hate it that it didn't get worked out for ya..FI ain't easy when everything goes RIGHT. Hopefully, you are running a much more satisfying combo AKA getting the results you expect/paid for. Turbochad, you are in a fortunate position...a turnkey turbo car (add-on) is very rare. Your car didn't put out nearly the same HP on the first dyno pull as it does now. Tuning takes time as well as working out all the little things. Your car has more dyno pulls than my car has dragstrip runs. Good for you and I am sure that is why your car has the results that it has. We don't all have a dyno at our disposal so results like yours take time. I think the QMP kit can produce some great numbers...just takes money/time and and patience. On another note, Turbochad, have you had a chance to run your car at the track yet?

I again agree with you cablebandit. There is no subsitute for dyno time. That is true with any FI setup! I have owned well over 50 FI cars and many deep 10 sec cars and only my twin turbo mustang comes close to starting, idling, and driving as nice as this car does. Hell when I bought the car I cruised it home from 3 hours away and it drove like a dream! As far as power goes, this car is seriously fast, period. I personally have not had the car to the track. When I got the car all the tracks here were already closed for the season.

Rob told me he was close to 50 kits built. How many 10 second QMP cars are on this board or ls1.com that where driven at the track by their owner (not Raymer) to a 10? Does a 10 second private owner driven QMP turbo car exist?

Hey onfire, I have any amount of money you want to put up that says I can drive my car DEEP in the 10's. I also have a buddy with a QMP kit that runs 10's everytime at the track!

That's great. Is the buddy on the FI list? I'm just curious where all of the 10 second cars are....maybe they just don't post here.

Chad, who is your buddy that has a QMP setup and driven it 10s?

Get him on KyHorsepower, we'd love to have him/her!

Let's have some fun with a friendly wager.

Chad, you have more cubes, a bigger intercooler, etc than the 10.17 run your car made earlier. So I wager that if you can equal that run by January 30, 2005 you can have the box of parts you were going to pick up for me (Retail value approx $3000 and you pick them up).

If you can't equal that run, pay me 1/10th of the part value or $300.00

Car must be raced as you received it...no n20, etc...at any NHRA track.

Game?

I think he'll need a 12-bolt or 9-inch to even dream of beating a 10.17, let alone match it.

I can walk the talk. The only problem I have as Levi said is the stock rear and the fact that there is not a track anywhere near KY open until spring.

well i have a qmp kit that did 11.4@123 and didnt even complete the full run,so i know 10s is easy enough, and that was in a completly stock motor(valve covers never even off) 3600lb race wieght and with a 1.8 60 foot,im not saying it was easy to get it there,i deff.had problems but its not impossible, and when the tracks open i will post up my 10s slip

Congrats man, you will be in the 10's before you know it. I am going to go ahead and predict that the QMP car will be in the 9's next year

Default ..

When my car had a stock motor(only valvesprings), 12 bolt, driveshaft, 26'' et streets, good clutch, full interior, no weight reduction, and made 570rwhp and 640 ftlbs on 11 lbs of boost. It went 6.90 at 103 mph with a 1.58 60ft. in the 1/8. I had 3 or 4 11.0 runs in the 1/4 that day. The car would loose a pound or so in the uppers gears due to basically maxxing out/heating the spring in the gate. I never had a chance to return to the track after retuning with methanol and the spring changed.

I never ever get on here and defend my old set-up(qmp) but I think alot of people overlook them as bad kits with problems, when in reality if the kit is installed and tuned correctly, it can make good power and be trouble free. I dont think it is the best choice for someone wanting 700+ hp but I have seen it work.

I should be in the 9s next season, just have to get the motor back together and get a th400 and rear in the thing.... using the basic T76 kit as well...
