Intercooler is great to reduce IAT's, but methanol does both reduce air temps and limit detonation. When properly set up, the methanol will probably allow more power to be made, but the intercooler is nice for the obvious fact that it requires no maintenance and no refill or any of that. But yes, methanol on top of the intercooler will allow more boost, and IAT's will be extremely low which is great.

If your bottom end is stock, going more than 8psi is pushing it. I don't think a stock engine will last very long even with a good tune.

We did a completely otherwise (turbo) BONE STOCK WS6 months ago and tuned it for 9psi. He even has cats on. Car is making sick power (well over 500+RWTQ on a mustang dyno at sea level) and runs smooth. As far as blowing a ringland or something like that, if you properly tune it, you wont have those issues. Over 8 is pushing it on a stock bottom, but like I said, if tuned properly, it will survive.

If you're only running 6psi, do you need the methanol?

Should you run bigger injectors? Are Ford Racing 30lbs. good enough?

I really don't want to have to put an intercooler up front. There's no elegant place to integrate it and have it be "invisible" on a TA. I'd like to keep things as street legal and CARB approved as possible.

STS is still going through CARB, but it looks promising. The P1-SC is already CARB legal. You do not HAVE to run Meth, but IAT's are going to be high and you will be getting diminshing returns.
Not sure about the injectors.

Camarokid, where is your dealer-friend's shop located? Is it online as well?
