Default 13lbs of Boost made 781 hp to the wheels

I currently own a 2001 Trans Am Ram Air with a Lunati 408 kit with 8:5:1 CR LS6 heads built by Merkel Racing Engines in Long Island. The car was put togther by TURBO PEOPLE out of Hastings on Hudson in New York,The car has a custom cam :cam: done by Turbo People and a custom turbo with GEN 7 DFI.The turbo kit itself is a Turbo Technology Race kit water to air intercooler.I took it today to the dyno with stock rearend with a girdle with 275/50/15 BF Goodrich Drag Radials and stock transmission with a Star 600 + HP clutch,my first run was 638 hp at 12lbs ,second was 760 hp at 12.5lbs ,third was 781 hp at 13lbs .I went three more times after that with the boost turned up to 15lbs and it kep spining the tires really bad on the dyno and was only making 520 with it spining at 90mph.With this turbo i have on the car the lowest i can turn the boost down to is 12lbs so im gonna be putting two wastegates on it to lower it.I will be heading back to the dyno with slicks next time and the boost turned up

Congrats on the numbers. When you have the some of the best in the country working on your stuff the results are usually great. Get that thing to the track and lay down some big MPH.

Merkel built the motor in my friends GN and it made 1200 rwhp.Twin t76 small block.

Default Turbo

Thank you Guys ,it kinda sucked cause the BF Goodrich Drag Radials i had on it were old so when i we went to turn up the boost it just ignited the tires on the dyno. The boost was turned all the way down it wont go any lower then 12lbs so Job Jr said were gonna have to put a second wastegate on it cause one, the boost starts to kreep and two i need to turn it down a little to so i can play on the street without killing myself.

how large is the turbo? was 93 oct used, or race gas?

i am building a 408 motor with a gt55 turbo at FMS and am hoping for close to 700 rwhp on pump gas with similar boost.
