Hardcore Motorsports Spring Open

The Spring Open will be March 10 - 13, 2005, at Virginia Motorsports Park (VMP.)
Hardcore Motorsports has made preliminary arrangements with our friends at Competitionplus.com to become the title sponsor of this event. Official announcement will be made next week on the C-plus site.
The spring open is a four day pro and sportsman test session held each year, one week prior to the Gator Nationals. Usually 40 to 50 pro teams (pro stock and pro mod mostly) show up and about 60 to 80 IHRA and NHRA sportsman teams.
Because we're such nice guys we are offering free admission to any driver and team with a Gen 3 (LS1/LS6/C5R/6.0L, etc.) powered car who would like to come out and test over the four days. Slicks only, no street tires, it tears up the track and then the pros can't do their thing. Your car must be deemed to be safe by the tech officials. NHRA/IHRA safety rules apply.
And to make things even more interesting, The Hardcore crew has concieved the Hardcore Motorsports Race of Champions, and would like to invite Mr. Harlan to a best two out of three grudge match. We would line up once a day the 11th, 12th and 13th, to see who brought the smoke, or at least who can keep their junk together long enough to get the job done (this is sometimes a problem for us.) This is intended in fun with no real prize other than bragging rights. The match will be pre-promoted and then written-up on Competitionplus.com and we may be able to place editorial elsewhere as well. So what do you think Matt, racing in front of the pro's, hangin' out at VMP, hopefully meeting some of the folks who post on this site, and smackin' down the boys from Hardcore....tough to resist! Could be a lot of fun...buy you a beer. Call me at 810-787-2960.
Thanks
Gary Penn

Sounds like a good oppurtunity to test the car. We'll be there.
Gary is it already an open test day or did Hardcore get the track for a 4 day block and invite people for testing?

The Spring Open is in its 4th year. It's 4 days of test and tune, intended primarily for Pro cars (Pro Mod and Pro Stock predominantly.) It's their chance to test prior to the Gators in Florida the following week. On sunday there is a Pro Mod shoot out race, typically records have been set here. Pro's get in free, sportsman racers pay, we're picking up the tab for any of you who want to come and TNT as a part of sponsor agreement. But SLICKS only, no treaded tires.
Competitionplus.com "owns" the event, Hardcore will be the title sponsor for 2005. VMP promotes the event locally, so there will be a small spectator crowd on the weekend.
If you plan to come, send me an email at gary@hcorems.com and in March I will email you a voucher to get in.
Should be lots of fun. VMP is a national event caliber track, the owners and staff are great people. It's a great chance to meet some of the pro team folks and to see some of the baddest sportsman guys do their thing. And with 100-150 cars, you'll get to make as many passes as you like on a track that is prepped to national event standards...sticky and fast.
So, dust off your junk, splash some fuel in it, throw it on the trailer and come on down.
