Default one or two intercoolers

on a twin turbo set up would you rather have one or two intercoolers. if you had the space for two smaller ones or one big one. And say tha car has twin throttle bodies

if the car has twin TB you probably wouldnt want to join the air and then disconnect it

it really maters which one is more efficant.

Well, for a twin throttle body setup (i.e. Viper), I'd just go w/ a big intercooler from Spearco and have them put the extra outlets on the end tanks as needed. For a twin setup, run two inlets @ the bottom on the side and the outlets on the top, welded to the top of the tank.

I would go with whichever allows greatest surface area for heat rejection, maybe. Size the coolers internal passages such that you have a velocity drop across the cooler to better saturate the cooler with heat from the induction air. Also provides for less delta P (change/drop in pressue) accross the cooler. Then accelerate the air again between the cooler and intake. Somewhere in the system you have to balance the two sides....either in the cooler or the intake plenum. If you can get the surface area you need, then a single cooler would be the better place to balance the system. And why would you use two throttle bodies? This is likely to produce unwanted turbulence in the plenum, resulting in mixture distribution problems...dependant on intake manifold design. Twin turbo's will be a tricky deal to make work. Single is better for most applications. If you want small twins to reduce lag....then supercharge it. Just my opinion.
