Default Cheapest way toward BIG Power???

I have been trying to do some research on this myself, but was thinking "why not start a thread about this?" I am sure many folks want to make big power, but may not be sure where to start. It is a given, that brand new items if you want to make 1000hp + it'll be 20k+, but maybe we can start a list of items and the cost here? Doesn't have to be for 1,000 hp but you get the point I want to start working toward this. What would I need and what could it cost? I am thinking this:

408 Iron block (I believe I saw a 402 from SLP for $3500?)
all forged internals with 8:1 compression or so pistons
cometic head gaskets
42+ lb/hr fuel injectors
bigger fuel pump
Turbo/blower with lotsa lotsa boost
custom cam

What do you all think?

big power, cheap, and forced induction dont go together. big power and 42 lbs injectors on forced induction motors dont go together.

then there is getting it to the ground, which is never cheap.

let me rephrase. Not cheap...but the cheapest way rather .. .and by fi. My thought was to make over 450rwhp n/a and then put a 150-200 shot on it, but to see if I couldn't hook up 2 bottles in the back so there isn't a problem of running out of the spray too often.

Cheap and ALOT of HP dont go in the same sentence..........

To do a 1000rwhp......
Dont forget the little stuff..... ie drivetrain
Drivetrain $6000
Short block $4500
Heads $2500
Fuel system $2000
Stand alone.. ie DFI, BS3 $2500
Bolt ons About $1000 give or take.
Turbo setup..... turbo to IC $8000+
Misc. $1500
So.....

So $20K............. you were close...............

If you already have that 6.0 setup. pick up an F1 procharger kit from SDCE. If your goal is only tens, though, I would stick with NA and nitrous.

Maybe TTI race kit hot parts $4000, fab your own OBX A/A I/C setup 500, buy a used Turbo and have it freshened up 800, 60 injectors 500, a1000 fuel pump 280, sump a 98 junkyard tank 150-200, fuel lines and fittings % Reg 300, Racegate off ebay 200, 6L stock heads 300, Cam 350, BOV 200, Forged Short block 3000. These are all LS1 parts and Im forgetting stuff and the drivetrain will disentegrate but looks like around 10 grand. and you could make around 600-700 at the rear wheels depending on the turbo maybe more if the intercooler was efficient enough or if you added some alky ($400) Im no expert
