Twin Turbo LS1 or New Z06 POLL!?!?!?
#41
... i wouldnt take a 2000HP f-body over a new bone stock C6-Z06... not that i dont like the f-bodies, i actually love them, but im corvette through and through and i know that LS7 will put out mucho more HP than any LS1-LS2 with the right money spent...

Just putting an engine of that level into your car would cost a lot more than the camaro is worth. With the new Z06... you get that engine... tested for reliability... with all of the bits and pieces designed to work together... in a body/chassis that quite frankly isn't even comparable to the Fbody. Not to mention, if you ever have to sell the car, you would basically be giving away all the money you invested in the camaro... the Vette would hold it's value much better.
Bah 427.....4 20 smevin........ Just kidding. Yeah the car sounds like it's capable of sick power but to me it's too much money, especially for a new idea and plus i am cheap, but i do respect new ideas and would like to see some of this implanted into more production sports cars. I actually wanted a 427 in my car but found it wouldn't be safe to have in a 6.0 block running forced induction so i dumped it for a 398 built to smitherines(or 1500 hp whichever is easier to say). I don't think now is the time to jump in on a new production idea because it may become standard a few years down the line and done for much cheaper than the prices we are seeing now.
It's hard to compare an F-body to a vette besides the power plant, which is now completely different in the case of the new Z06. I think TACruiser would rather have the power of FI that will give him the option of staying somewhat conservative or just going absolutely insane. Besides 500hp stock is too much on the street

The Fbody is totally outdated and full of compromises. A C5 ZO6 might be a hard decision but not the new C6. the C5 Zo6 is just a hardtop C5 with better heads and cam, a C6 ZO6 is a real supercar. Aluminum chassis, carbonfiber body panels, and a 500 horse 427 that is suppsoed to be way underated. Someone scan in this month's Motor Trend with the specs and pics!

w/ a 427 500hp zo6 coming..... aaaaaaaaaaa zo6 for me.
My question though... my 325hp rated SS put down 327 at the rear wheels.
Is the 405hp zo6 405 at the wheels?, and will the 500hp zo6 be at the wheels? If so no doubt go z06.

Nothing magical about a 7.0 vs a 5.7. Theres no replacement for displacement
