INTMD8 - Tuning question with the 3 bar map setup. How do you get the VE values for low map(in boost) and high rpm?

example:

Say you want to run 20 psi at the track and 10psi on the street. If the wastegate holds 20psi and you get full boost by say 4000rpm then you wouldn't have data for 10psi at 6000rpm. Do you just turn the boost up a little at a time until you've built the table up to your max boost?

Thanks

LOL, sorry about that.

To answer your question, yes, you would turn the boost up progressively until you built the entire VE table.

Once you've got it tuned at base boost, you can scale up the rest of the table for higher boost, than test at a higher level.

Generally the ve table will follow the same trend vs RPM, but increase with manifold pressure.

Wow, I have not had this much excitement from reading a thread in quite some time. The future is looking bright, but then again the here and now looks to require shades too.

MAF for part throttle/around town, 2 bar or 3 bar to augment that...don't think I could ask for much more.

We are using mototron 60's at 70psi base pressure and dual walbro 340's.

The 60s made it to 840rwhp at 60psi base, but they were maxed out.

Hmmm, I could use a vacation.

Really though, if you had your own 3 bar setup, I could send you a file that would be very close. (you would just have to fine tune it)

Intmd8, that would be cool, but us poor 98 guys are still waiting for HPtuners to release the 2-3 bar stuff. I'm dying to buy it It would really help me get the car squared away. Can you get us a tenative date on when they will release it for us 98 step children.

Speed Inc, could you post a screenshot of your 3 bar VE table? I'm curious to see what it looks like, but i understand if you don't want to share it.

What good is that going to do....you can see my post unanswered there with quite a few others.....can be frustrating when you ask a question on their Forum and not get a direct answer. I noticed its a trend on there when trying to get help or info from the HP tuner guys. Not knocking them but it gets frustrating.

Interesting thread. I will be keeping an eye on these new HP Tuners packages. The race fuel portion of the hyjack was interesting too. I see both sides of that story. Personally I agree with Bryan. Streetable and a true street car are different in my book. Anytime you have to start making excuses why you can't race, I don't have any race fuel in the car, my bottle is empty, etc. then you're getting away from a fun car and getting into a race car. Not saying it's right or wrong. But I understand where bryan is coming from. Assuming his claims are true he could fill up with a tank of 93 on the way to the beach and not have to worry about getting into it a little on the way there.

My only "knock" against race fuel is where to find it. No one remotely close sells it at the pump. Ordering gas in 5 gallon drums and having to fill in a percentage of each tank... Not so much a true street car.

But I'm not knocking the race gas setups. If you don't mind spending the extra $$$ and don't mind the hassle, go for it.

I'm in desperate need of the 3 bar. Were you using a boost referenced regulator? Also i have an aeromotive A1000. Do you think that will be enough pump to make 850rwhp @70PSI?
