Default Talk me into an STS?

okay ive been looking for some front mount kits for my bone stock T/A but havent really found any results and for some reson results with an STS are really easy to find.... i know the front mount kits are out there but hwo makes them and how much...i just picked the car up with 17k pewter A4...my original plan was an ironblock 408 but im leaning towards keeping the ls1 and doing a turbo first and later on finding some heads and a cam to match....also the car is BONE stock...so im sure suspension and a tranny will be in order...but whats an sts capable on a bone stock ls1...making a stupid amount of power isnt my biggest concern the only numbers i care about are ET and the lowest i cna posibly get it and still drive the damn thing 4 or 5 days a week so any suspension mod help would be very much apreciated too...just wanna hear some pro cons about the sts over other kits.... im new to the fbody world but not to the ls1 world i had a blown 6.0 in my 01rcsb sierra much faster than this turd.....

You will need a stall with STS as well as any other kit. That will help a ton.

This should help.

The tall will help out some, but using the stock stall is also very good because you can load the turbo faster which means faster spool up.

Our stage one STS kit put out 410RWHP on a six speed car. I know its less for an Auto, but just something to look at.

May need to talk to Harlan about a 2-step also to allow you to build boost and not creep across the line like I do.

Does anyone make an STS with a front mount yet? I don't feel I'm mechanically inclined enough to fab one up, until then no STS for me

I think there is something out there like a Brake line lock....

Ever heard of it before?.. something like a switch or a button to keep brake pressure in the lines to hold the car/truck there while boosting.

Either way, I should be in the same boat as you to work out the launching kinks in a few weeks.

Not sure how line locks would work for F8L and me since we launch with 4WD/AWD. I guess as good as mashing the pedal

F8l is right, your in luck. We just finished our kits for these cars and not only can you get the STS from us, you can get a full complete, ready to roll FMIC kit from us now too.

The line lock may work but I would have to get it to hold all 4 wheels. That's why i thought maybe a 2-step would be better. I don't think anyone uses a line lock for launching. Mainly for doing burnouts which can be tricky for some people with manual trannies.

In our trucks I have heard that pulling the ABS fuse will allow you to brake stall really high without being pulled forward. When I get my truck back I am gonna try it out.

After seeing the video with the GTO it looks like a simple stall converter will allow an auto to boost off the line almost like I do now. The 6-spd cars will need the 2-step though.

Make sure and keep me posted on your setup Chris. Erik's combo is so wild I can't even keep up with his specs.

Back in the day, we all ran line locks for launching (at least the mustang crowd I ran with) so you could have your right foot free to spin up the motor and left foot on the clutch. I'm also gonna try the ABS trick when my truck gets put back together.

Don't feel bad F8L I can't even keep up with my specs
