I am gonna try to keep the aluminum driveshaft. If the rear locks up again, it seems like kind of a fusible link. If the driveshaft doesnt pop, the tranny would be next in line
I may get that torsen from ya.

first one came in the car....I had extra posi/gears/axle from my first car that was totalled. I bought an extra rear for 150 bux. So far I got 150 in basically 3 rears and changed it in an afternoon. It lasted 22 passes and 11000 miles of hell. Not too bad. Now I see I can send in my busted posi to Auburn and get a new one for 85+ shipping.

Running a lot of power through a stock rear end is not only about breakage, it's very unsafe. You have little 28 spline axles and a tiny c-clip is the only thing keeping them in the car. Well the calipers will act as a second line of defense I suppose.
If you snap a axle at speed your in a world of trouble. Luckily most times they just break at launch. But I have witnessed first hand cars with massive damage when the axle left the car down track.
I'm just saying to consider your saftey as well as money.

I was of the mind to keep working with the 10 bolt, as it turned out in the end I finally was forced to buy a 12 bolt. For the money I spent trying to repair and keep the stock unit working I could have bought 2 12 bolts from Moser.

man I see folks popping 9"/12 bolts all the time on here. I think witht the a4 that it would be more reliable but I am looking at the options including a 9 bolt rear or a dana from a TTA....or even a ford 8.8
