You can't go wrong with FMS. I was down at the Thunder shootout last year, and there were quite a few cars built by FMS in contention during the event. They definitely know how to put fast race cars together if that event was any indication.

dont feel bad, my car has been there since mid june!

i did the same thing, originally i was gonna go NA, but decided to go turbo if i could have it within my budget.

Sounds like a great way to spend 30k! What size turbo is the gt-55? Is it a 76, 88, 91, 94?

honestly, i dont know much about it, but its suppose to be very efficient. if it is a replacement for the t76 turbo, i would assume maybe its a similar size, so it can fit properly, however since it is so new, and specs or information isnt even released about it yet, i couldnt tell ya.

So when you go to the track, at what point do you need a parachute? 8's? 135 mph?
i guess its prob different with different tracks. what other kind of features would i need besides a cage with this much power to run legally?

150mph you need a parachute,
longer wheel studs
battery kill switch if mounted in back
10 point cage
window net
harness
firesuite

these are just a few

what do you think 700 rwhp is capable of at the track in full race trim, not removing anything?(mph and 1/4?)

there is no limit but it is a pain to use at that level. every day you will have to watch your tune and maybe even retune. the tune would likely change just thru the day. i think you could get close to 1000rwhp with the 75lb high imp injectors but above that the factory pcm would need an impeadance converter to run larger injectors.

You hit the nail right on the head there......in weather like mine a stock pcm just cant do it..... That why i decided it was a no brainer to go with BS3........ tuning a car everytime you start it is not fun........ now with a standalone like BS3....... just set your timing and A/F and add gas and your good to go...... then change the tune for race gas add it in and your good to go......... Thats just my .02

a little off topic but for any of you guys on a low budget, i am running the megasquirt for my fueling. cost about $200 in parts and works great. it is super easy to tune with.

Thanks for the replies. I figured staying with the stock PCM wouldn't be worth it b/c of tuning issues. So basically in the end an aftermarket unit would pay for itself...sorry to get off topic.

you can either do mega squirt or HPT. (low cost solutions)
HPT is offering a 2bar map soulution so you wont have to worry about that, also they will be releasing a 3 bar soon.

with 700rwhp at full weight you should be high nines around 135ish

at 700rwhp you will be at 80+lb's of air. the factory maf can only read 60lb's of air. if you tune it on a cold day and tune it way safe then you will almost for sure be ok for any weather changes but you will be pig rich when it gets hot.

you could probably get by at 700rwhp without retuneing or loging everytime you go out but you are building a monster that will likly be a ways over that number.

if you live where the weather is prety consistant that would help i bet. where i live there are 40+deg swings sometimes in the daily temps.

please talk to allan and buy an aftermarket computer. in AZ where the temps are hot and they are cold you are going to have a nightmare of a tune. besides what is another 3K bucks for the BS3 installed? lol
