The gt60 has a 141mm compressor wheel. I am not sure if that's the overall diameter or the tang of the wheel. It's big enough to support up to 2,000 hp, so I think the number may be correct.

BTW, the reason you would want more than one stage of compression is because that's the only way you can get very high levels of pressure rise efficiently. That is why jet engines run 10 or more stages of compression to get pressure rises of 35:1 (500psi). Axial compressors can get a pressure rise of about ~1.8:1 per stage efficiently and centrifugal compressors can get 4:1 per stage but not as efficiently.

That is the exuducer not the inducer.
The inducer is the size of the compressor wheel at the inlet.
The exducer is the big part of the wheel that shoots the the air out of the outlet.
If the inducer was that big it would be good for more than 3000HP.

The GT42 has either choice of a wheel diameter of 94mm or 104mm and a listed rating of 500-1000. So, the inducer will be what 82mm and 92mm? I'm pretty sure the old style t-88 can make more than 1,000hp. These new style turbos are supposed to make more than that.
Even with the GT60 having an overall wheel dia. of 141mm...that has to STILL be one hell-u-va inducer...don't you think?

The GT-42 is offered in 3 flavors that I know of.
they have 72,74 and 76 MM Compressors.
They are rated at 900-1200HP.
Duttweiler just made 1830HP with twin GT-42 72MM on his 287ci splayed valve SBC.
He had us pick up some 74MM for our 394ci 18* Headed Motor.
We should have enough turbo for 2100HP.
The old PT88 is good for about 1250HP.
They can put the gt-47 wheel in it now, not sure what it will make.
The GT-47 88MM is good for between 1450-1500HP.
The inducer on the GT60 is aobut 106MM.

It is not that I know anything, I just know people that do.
Duttweiler is the man, he mentioned that there was more power
left in the motor if he upgraded the turbos.
He had about 18 dyno passes over 1800HP.

And the purpose of compounding turbos is to simply increase the total air into the motor ... some of the diesels in tractor pulling circles are running 3 and 4 turbos in series/parallel to produce upwards of 250 psi boost.
