Default MLS Gaskets and throttle body question

I read an excerpt from hotrod, where they dropped the compression in their rat motor considerably by adding a MLS Gasket from Cometic... Does anyone have any experience in the matter? or with Similar multi-layered-steel setups? Also do you have to have the deck's professionally milled to use them? I wanted to avoid any machine shop work, but I hear you have to have them as flat as possible for them to work

Other Question, Does swapping throttle bodies help at all in a forced induction setup? Besides porting, I was thinking about an MTI throttle body, anybody notice a difference?

I'll be running about 12-14 LBS of boost and using LQ9 heads to lower my compression, I was hoping to find any other way to lower my compression ratio, negating the need for a forged block with boost pistons. Car is a LS1 (98 camaroSS)

adding a thicker then stock gasket will lower your CR. cometic has several thicknesses to choose from.
a better throttle body will give you a small amount of gain, bu twill it be worth the cost is up to you

with the 6.0 heads and say a .060 thick gasket you should be around 9.2:1 CR

12-14 PSI of boost... I would probably start thinking about the forged bottom end.. Atleast make sure your tune is on the money!

Does the Deck need to be cleaned professionally by a cutter for the cometics to work? or can I just use a plastic gasket/ice scraper to clean em up? As for 12-14 on stock, yeah.. I intend to have it tuned by the LAPD locally. I just don't wanna dump another 5 grand for the same (except forged) block.. I'm gonna save for a 427.
