Default Garrett GT42R

We have not decided on exactly what size turbo we are going with in my new kit.......
I was wondering is anyone running one and how it is doing with a lil bigger cubes then stock.
I have been looking at the compressor map of this turbo and from what i can tell think ill be in the 74% region. Will this turbo make 800rwhp and do it while using under 18 psi of boost on my 370???
Here is the air consumption of a 370.

http://www.forcedinductions.com/consumption370.htm

Anyone be of any help????
Thanks
Kyle

*edit its this one

If I under stand the map and flow at 18psi would will 86lbs. and the 2.22. On the map the 2.22 would put that at the outside line but still in the 74% area. I say it should be fine, there were two maps for 2 different a/r's. One of the book I was reading said you take your lbs.consuption time 10 and that will get you close to the output horsepower.

from that data, you'll need more than 18 to make 800RWHP. unless you spin it past 6500

The 42R will more than support that power however.

Thanks guys even with the 102mm, 53Trim Compressor??? I added that after i posted sorry..... I do shift now at 6600rpm....... but dont want to spin the crap out of the motor.... the goal is 800rwhp on a Mustang dyno thru my 6 speed and 10 bolt (For now) if it doent break on the dno. Should i just go back to our original idea and stick with a T-88????
Thanks

it's not the turbo limiting you, it's the motor comsumption at 18psi.

Just doesn't push enough air to make 800 to the tire at 18psi, 19 would get you closer

I dont have to stop at 18psi....i can push 20 im just worried about lifting a head, I have the same head studs as you, and MLS 6.0 gaskets. It shouldnt be hard to tune with BS3. Will it still be efficient with 20 psi and my 370.
Thanks Matt for the Help.

Looking closer at the map, you'll start to choke the turbo much above 15 psi with a 370

88 would probably fit better

Thanks Matt...... any idea how much boost it wil take with a T-88 to make 800rwhp??
With this compressor map....shouldnt be anywhere near chokng it with it....

Air cosumption table again

Looks to be 78% efficient all the way up tp 20 psi even shifting at 6500 rpm.
Thanks

A little more efficient, so maybe a little less boost. Like 1 psi less perhaps.

But, it should take about the same boost even w/ the 88. Charge temps should be a little lower, so it should make a little more power
