Default dyno on a4 turbo car

I went to the dyno and with the converter locked, on the first pull, my rpms got to 5000 and just hung there for a few seconds before it started to go up some more. They also rose very slowly after 5000. I have no idea what's up with that. The operator said it was spinning but I don't see why the rpms would hang..I was watching the stock tach

WOW! awsome numbers Jerry, i didnt know you were that high up there!
703/775 sounds like you got your tuning down finally, and it only took you how man motors just kidding with ya there bud. But youve come along way, glad you got through your setbacks
off the top of my head is this the highest dynoing incon, what was harlans modified incon at?

fill us in on all the details of your set up like what turbos

all the dynos i have seen with wheel spin have a jump in the line. maybe something is wrong with your converter where it cant take that much power

hmm..dunno...converter was just rebuilt by Precision and they knew what it was going behind. Anyway...I have the smaller turbos of the 2 Incon offered. This is about all my kit has in it as far as power wise. I have been running at the track with less power but it was good to see what it would do. With the converter unlocked, it gets right into the powerband....I am gonna lock it in third at the track. I dunno about highest dynoing and. I am pretty sure harlan was higher as well as Mike brown. The dyno guy had one screen up that showed some weird line...it looked like an ocean wave when it got to 5000 rpms...I don't see that in my file. Oh well...maybe i'll try again sometime with the converter locked and people in the trunk

Whenever i have tire spin my car does the same thing but what i have found is the hp numbers are off quite a bit but i have a manual.kind of funny you would think with wheel spin the tack would climb very fast.

maybe your turbos are maxed out and that's why you have the flat line?

Who did your tranny?

not exactly wired shut.....but nothing I would recommend to anyone else. Rock On transmissions did my tranny. Great guys to work with.
turbos maxed...hmmm....maybe..i dunno.....Dave inall said these turbos could do 80lb/min together....seems thats gotta be about where I'm at. Now I gotta get it to the ground. I will still run at the track with about 650 rwhp to try and get a 9 sec slip. If I can't..I'll turn it up to 700 and see if that will do it.

Smokinhawk it has been a long road but mostly fun. Most of the problems I have had were usually caused by me not paying attention to something I should have. It's funny how we have progressed...back in the day my numbers would have been "harlan like"....now I'm just another chump with a ls1

if you were on methanol, what was your wideband air fuel readout?

you have stock rods also correct?

you need to take it to the track right now just like that before she lets loose on ya.

no kidding what was it a year ago this time only Matt, Mike and Rob were at that level. now this/next year 1000rwhp will be nothing either

i think yours is more of a true street car then theirs. Still 700rwhp is nothing to sneeze at,
im used to the fact that i will always be a step or two behind

good guess with valve float...havent thought of that
stock rods..93 with methanol injection
231/226 115+3 .601/.580
I am going to eventually go with something smaller like 220/228 113
wideband reads 11.5-8 I am not injection much.. m15 nozzle with OLD pump....not much flow.

Smokinhawk Yeah we get the big dawg hand me downs!! It's cool though...cheaper this way...they pioneer...we copy after they figure out what does/doesnt work. The absolutely coolest phuckin part is they are willing to share the info. Mike Brown answers every email/pm I send with useful info. Lotsa guys wouldn't on some other boards so we got it good here!!! I wish they'd step up and offer us educational rides!!!!
