rebuilding my Vortech estimates???
rebuilding my Vortech estimates??? I just got a Vortech S trim supercharger head unit from a buddy of mine and he said that the impeller and gears need to be replaced, How much would it cost to get the replacement parts. Can I replace them myself or are there special tools that are needed to open the housing and replace the internals. The reason I'm asking is I got it because I plan on piecing it together and then putting it on my 5.3L sierra. Is it worth it?
from what i've heard vortech is pretty stingey with replacment parts, especially internals. 
but don't quote me on that. One of my friends rebuilt his, basically replaced bearings, he ended up going to a turbo place here in oklahoma city and buying the bearings from them, supposedly even higer RMP ratings that the ones from vortech. dunno, though, just gonna have to call them to ask.. good luck.
