What all is necessary for a blower car?
The supercharger kit
Fuel Pump
Fuel Injectors
Tuning Software
Possible low impidence converter box
Forged bottom end to do it safe
Upgraded Clutch or automatic transmission
If you run good tires, you may need a rearend too.
Thats the short list, you might also need fuel rails and a few other fuel system related odds and ends.
also to add to the list up top is maybe an alkahol kit to allow you to up the boost a good place for this is www.alkycontrol.com. good luck and have fun The key to making big power in any engine is matching the heads and cam. For a supercharged application, pay special attention to the exhaust side. If you already have the heads, go to the porter and get his recommendation for a cam based on the internal configuration of your motor and where in the rpm range you want to make power. If you already have the cam, go to a head porter that is good at, or has a reputation for making power with superchargers. Give him your cam and engine specs and he can optimize flow for the cam profile. Most guys won't take these extra steps because it can be more expensive, time consuming, or they just don't think it is necessary or worth the effort, but if you look at all the guys that have maxxed their D1SCs, which is capable of 750 rwhp, and still aren't making 600 rwhp, you gotta wonder why. What is the problem? Airflow restriction.....somewhere. Intake, head/cam configuration, or exhaust, specifically collector back pressure. Am I saying if you get heads and cam that are perfectly matched you will make 750 rwhp, of course not, but you will likely have a more efficient air pump and that will translate to more power.
Well I am starting to get carried away again as I often do and I apologize, but consider it food for thought and know this, forced induction is not rocket science, but to do it right does require a certain amount of research and understanding, and it is expensive.
Good luck,
Tom
