Default Pushing oil out under boost, grrr...

Ok, my intercooler is on, i'm running a STS setup at 8 psi vs my previous 5 psi. On 5psi it was pusing out oil a little from somewhere on the back of the motor. On 8 psi it's a lot worse now. I'm starting to leave a bigger puddle after boosting.
When the tranny was out my friend who was doing the clutch said the leak looked like it was coming from somewhere above the oil sender, but he couldn't find it. It wasn't that bad.

I also found some oil spray under my hood which concerns me. I didn't have that at 5 psi, but at 8psi I get it sometimes and it can be pretty bad. Dip stick tube doesn't move.

Everything on the car is still pretty much stock, icluding the pcv system from what I can tell. There is no catch can or anything like that.

ok what is prolly happening is you are pressurizing your crankcase and blowing oil out the knock sensor orings, you need to rework you pcv system usually with a catch can do a search for "catch can" to see how every on is running theirs

The leak at the back of the motor is likely the oil gallery plug. Mine leaked on stock motor with no boost. Shop said it is fairly common. I don't think there is much that can be done about that.

I didn't like hearing that. But my problem is being exacerbated by boost. I think once I kill the boost in the crankcase issue i'll be ok.

Here is some more info from my friend about the location of the leak.

it was on the top rear of the manifold, I think about 1-2 inches to the passenger side from the oil pressure sendor, but forward slightly on the manifold.

I'm pretty sure the spray on the front of the motor is coming from the oil cap. oil return line.

How did you plumb your breathers?

no can do on my oil cap, got a oil return line running in there.
What do you think about running a catch can off the valve covers and then venting that?

You'll have to forgive me. I haven't worked on LS1's to much yet so I don't know all the plumbing on them yet.

Default return

you must have a pump feed return they are usually below the turbo to work right. then just put one on the drivers side orig. pcv hole on the valve cover one should be fine.

bitch you didnt tell me that worked for your oil problem (ESR)!!! I need to draw out my setup for David to use...it works good and keeps the pcv working properly to create vacuum in the crankcase when not under boost.

I blew oil out my knock-sensor orings when I boosted without a check-valve. I'd start there.
